Project Phoenix is an open source simulator that will attempt to model a dynamic campaign similiar to the design of Falcon 4. However, the primary difference will be the ability for practically every module to be modified and expanded upon including new graphics engines, additional vehicle models, expandable performance models of weapons and vehicles, political settings, and many other features. This simulator will allow both human controlled land vehicles and aircraft to be used in combat. For more features, please read the project specification documents found on our website (see below).

This project started at Frugal' World with discussions regarding the possibility of development of a simulator that was completely modular. The simulation community has grown frustrated with the lack of simulators in development and corporations unwilling to invest the need time and money to develop simulators that the simulator fans wish to play. As a community, we understand the simulation group is very small and the development cycle is extensive for accurate simulation of military vehicles. We feel it is time for us to build our simulator.

We feel the simulator community is one of the brightest groups in online gaming. We would ask for everyone that has time to spare and a desire to see such a simulation come in to reality to please join us. We need every kind of skill imaginable from R&D to graphics programmers. Everyone is welcome. Please take a look at the following links for more information.

altough it is quite dangerous to post something about a possible competitor with Il-2 FB /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif

1 Judge not, that ye be not judged.
2 For with what judgment ye judge, ye
shall be judged: and with what
measure ye mete, it shall be
measured to you again.
