Unfortunatly I didn't record it but my most insane kill was from a pair of 1000lbs bombs and it did'nt involve vulching http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/16x16_smiley-happy.gif.

I was being chased by a plane, turns out it was a spitfire bearing down on my P38 at about 100 meters alt. I dropped my bombs. I kinda gave up on bombing at that point and concentrated on climbing away and surviving.

Next I see 'Enemy Aircraft destroyed' and a 'What the [insert the usual expletive here]'

The bomb explosion, with the fuse set to 4.5 seconds had killed the Spitfire chasing me.

I once attacked 3 Pe-8's head-on with HurriMk.I and fire a short burst (1-1,5sec.) in the cockpit of leading bomber. I managed to hit the pilot and the bomber went down. That is my most insane kill http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif. I shot many A/C's down in funny ways but this is my favourite kill of all times, maybe because it was desperate one...http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/93.gif

Haha! I've almost gotten killed by such a thing before. Now I'm a lot more careful to chase a P-38 (or any other AC really) on the deck if I see it carries bombs.

My best kill, sadly, was blue-on-blue. I was flying a Hungarian 109F4 and I saw what I thought was a LaGG chasing my wingman. I went after the bandit and fire about a 15-round burst. The bandit exploded, and as I flew past I noticed a Hungarian cross on a wing...

The real LaGG was right in front of me (I had just cleared my wingman off his six!) I went to engage...out of ammo... never had a crazier mission!

My best fluke would have to be a series of 3 kills in a co-op, while in a P-47. Full real w/ icons.

The first was a FW-190, 200m range, 90deg deflection, as he was in a fast zoom climb. Killed his engine with a short burst.

Then another FW-190, 300m range, head on with about 45deg aspect. A short burst scores a headshot.

Then finally, a 109G6 at 600m range (no kidding), from dead astern. A half second burst blows his wing off.

I checked my user STAT at the end, and realized that I had fired only 300 bullets, 5 of which hit, and managed to get 3 kills http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Two for me:

Soon after the 38 was introduced I was on a server with one other pilot in a Mustang. I believe he was somewhere in the area of 1000m away from me. For goofs, I shot a brief burst of cannon and blew his wing off. Ridiculous!

Second, I was chasing a Frank in a 38. The Frank pilot was VERY good. At a range of about 800m he broke hard left. I banked hard left as well and fired a short burst of cannon. His plane blew in half. Silly almost.

A while ago, back in the original IL2, when I was actually a good pilot, I was flying against some guys in a pretty popular clan (can't remember the name.. d3 something I think)

Anyway, they were all in yak-3s, and I was in a 109 e-2.

2 were on my tail, and one was dead in my crosshairs, so I cut power and lowered flaps.

The yaks were coming out of a dive, so they both flew right back me.

BOOM all three of them shot down at the same time.

After the "WTF!"'s stopped, they asked me to join their ranks. I peacefully declined, and they banned me.

Ah, and I played my first multi-player game of IL2 FB AEP 2.01 last night.

I had a strange happening, and wished I had gotten a screeny.

A p51 was following me around maybe 1000 feet below me. He was trying to get up, but just couldn't do it...

So, I figured, he's the only one of his team that's up at the moment, why not?

I waited for him to try again, and break off, then I'd dive and blow him to bits.

So, he came up, he went down, and I saw the paintscheme coming into focus. Well, I thought he was upside down, the top of his plane was blue, and the bottom was white. Oops, and he got a way, and sped off in a dive as I was recovering.

So, I persued, but in my g6 I couldn't quite catch him. He was off 90k, and there was no limit to ammo. I took aim, and fired hoping it might hit him.

Only one, and next thing I know, that 90k gap is closing fast, and he's spinning around. I switch to view him, and his left wing was gone, and hhe was bailing out.

I was offline (hope it still counts) in a D9,
at 5000m with two Yak-3s. Pick one off, but then
the other chase me down to the deck. While racing
along at 3m alt. I see a bridge ahead and decide
to go under it. Said and done. After the bridge
I climb to about 10m and after a few seconds I
get the "Plane destroyed" message. I pause and
go external and see the bridge is wrecked and
and parts of airplane flying around.

I know I've posted one but Frederik reminded me...

I was playing a mate on LAN ages ago on the mountain map in FB. He was a **** shot but an amazing flyer. We were both in 109K4s and I was all over him. I was diving on him to take the kill, so he hit the deck and headed for a bridge. I was coming in at right angles, so I fired a v. short burst and started to turn in to his six. Then there was a massive explosion, and 'Aircraft Destroyed'... The one 30mm cannon shell I had fird had struck his cockpit as he went under the bridge, and blown him straight into the pillar...go figure!!!!!

And no, he wasnt a very happy man! http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif

This one was freakish... I got jumped in a P-51 at around 7000 meters (wasn't looking up, but a 190 was looking down...).. decided to stay with my plane until I got closer to the ground (lots of chute shooting going on) as I passed through 3000 I heard a loud noise and got the enemy aircraft destroyed message... Turns out that a 109 had just reached the top of a loop ready to pounce on a Spitfire when my wreckage rudely intervened... he exploded instantly and I lost my other wing, bailed out and made it safely to the ground.

me in 190 A8 w/ 2x108

I'm on the ground, after getting shot down by an enemy 190 D9.

I'm in the parking lot, starting my engine. The 190D9 that killed me is chasing a friendly La-7 around our airbase. I see that he is about to cross my nose so I open up, and kill him before my engine ever catches. I laughed loud and long about that one.

I did the same thing to a squaddie, we were both in ponies, I had just RTB'd, was taking off when I see him coming in (full real server). I have engine, so I floor it, rudder into him, and open up. He gets a wing, but I'm rolling on my wheels so it doesn't matter. I porked his engine. I waited until he died, and then hit refly. heh.

There's one guy I fly against who's a total bullet magnet; no matter what he's flying against the rest of us he'll eat it somehow ( 262 vs I153, he loses... ). So, trying to give him some practice, he's in a P51, I'm in a Zero for the first time and not liking it much. He's 1000m up from me, just about close enough to make out that he's actually a plane and not a small dot ( 8-900m or so )... I'm pulling round to fly an intercept vector so I'm more or less 90 degree deflection, give the lightest tap on the fire button as I pull the nose past him, can't have been more than 30 rounds, boom: instant PK. I'm laughing my head off, and I think at that point he gave up on air-air http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

My gunnery isn't that great, but with him there'd be invisible guide wires between us....

My most insane/lucky kill was online, i was in a Yak with 45mm canon, chasing a fighter that was 750 meters infront and about 200 meters above, both where climbing, i took a wild chance and fired one shot at the plane aimed about a crosshair above target, and what did i see....to my joy, the fighter burst into a ball of flames, had a fluke shot, right in the main fuel tank it seemed :-))

i also seem to have some luck in hitting enemy planes below, as they pass above me from head on, usualy i only do exterior damadge in the center from engine section to tail, once i was in the Stuka G, a 262 was comming straight at me, and was to pass some 5-800 meters above me, i pulled hard back, and fired a ,5 burst, and to my joy, the center fuselage was without's it's wing's :-)

usualy i'm the prey on the field, but when i'm in a Zerst├┬Şrer, or heavy fighter, i do sometimes have a insane luck, usualy in turnfighting or head on passes, that's if i don't get rammed that is.....

When u get to HELL, Tell'em I'll sent u.....U'll get a group discount

In a P63 with extra .50's under the wing, I killed 4 Hartmans with a single long squeeze in a head-on pass at 500 meters. Pure luck spray-n-pray.

A few months ago I was flying on a server which had all planes available. So being the early-war-wh*re that I am I hoped into an I16 type 24. Anyway long story short...

Flying along and see that one of my mates has a KI84c on his tail, they are in a turning fight so I slide in for the kill. As I am about 900m behind (and closing) two more enemy KI84's blow by me (I guess they figured I was not worth the trouble heheh). With a gentle kick of rudder I target the one on the right, fire off a burst and saw the wing...down he goes. Another gentle kick of the rudder and the second fellow feels the heat (to his engine), by this time I have caught up to the original Ki84 (who is oblivious to all this), then bang bang he is going down.

It was pretty funny to see three "so and so is killed by :FI:SpookyRuben in a row. I flew home and rearmed. Not one of them said a thing, to embaressed maybe http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif ???

One night- was in a IL-2 when I saw JimmyGiro close up on a ream mates 6- I fired a burst just to make him break off from .8. Next thing you know "JimmyGiro has been killed by DDaland"
5 minutes later, I'm up to 2000 altitude- kinda lurking- along comes JG, about 1100- I dip the nose- start to gain speed- hes pulling away....... I fire a burst from .7 out- hoping he will break and lose energy
"Jimmy Giro has been killed by DDaland"

He left the server a couple of minutes later

Mine owuld have to Be online, in Warclouds 44+. It was that map where blue attacks the Radar across the whole map, but noone really does and everyone fights up in the norther part of the map. Anyway, i'm on Blue in a dora, all shot up, Only gun that is left is an MG151/20. Genswat asks for assistance, as a spit is on his tail, and he is coming my direction. I pull a tight turn to try and get behind the spit, and for Sh*ts and giggles i fired off a quick 2 second burst randomly into the air.

*XXXXX Loses a wing to BS87's Fire*

I couldn't have shot more than 10 rounds, it was hilarious.

back in the days of the original IL2 when the lagg was still a semi-viable mount online I had taken the huge cannon Lagg 3 "IT" up for a spin and got involved in a tussle with a late war yak

he eventually ran out of ammo and broke off and ran (as one does) and by the time i came around and got a line on him he was 800 metres out

Just for the hell of it, I lined up a shot and aimed a good metre and half above the right wing and fired a single 37mm round at him and took the wing right off

i seem to recall this voice saying "the bull**** is strong in this one" at the time

Actually, I had a rather interesting kill today on WC44. I was having one of those rare days, I was hitting everything I was shooting at for a change. I was in a FW190 A-9 (Go figure.. a FW!) and was on that radar map with all the islands.

I had just shot up a P51 that seemed to take all the MK ammo I had. I climbed back up to a comfortable atmosphere of about 4.5k and saw two dots near a neutral airbase.

The rear dot was firing orange, so I knew I had to help my teammate out. I dove in and actually got my plane to about 840KPH at around 500 meters. I was still too far out to make a difference and way too fast to scrub enough speed to maneuver behind the P51 that was chasing the 109. So I fired my guns in an attempt to make the tracers fly over the P51. I was merely hoping for him to take note of another aircraft in the area and make an evasive maneuver to help the 109 get away while I went back up and looked for a better angle of attack. When I let loose my guns, I realized that all I had left was MG (13.7mm), and I cringed at the fact that I probably wouldnt be of much use to the 109.

To may amazement, I see a "XXX was Killed" message and the P51 went straight into the ground. That was followed by "Enemy Aircraft Destroyed." It took me by such a surprise that I continued to look around for some time to see who shot the P51 down. Heck, it was ME! I hit it at maximum deflection while flying at 840 KPH at a distance of at least 700 meters! And the burst of guns was probably less than 1/4 second! I thought, "Wow, what a lucky b@st@rd shot!" No skill involved, only sheer luck.

I landed with 5 aircraft kills in that sortie. I took off my headset, turned and looked at my son (Who was playing Battlefield 1942) and said, "Im on freaking fire today!" (Only I didnt say freaking http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif )

I hit refly and spawned in the path of another guy that was trying to taxi. (Death 2) I had already taxied into another guy that was AFK for some time. (Death 1) Then I hit refly once again and was killed as I was climbing by a P38 that came from nowhere. (Death 3) ...and out.

You know though, shots like that dont really give me much "Wood." Because I know how stupidly lucky they are. The ones that do, however are the ones where you track a guy, roll, and he disappears under your nose. You wait and fire a small burst at the exact time needed and blow him in two, and never actually see him or anything hit his plane. I get major "Wood" on those shots! http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

I was hosting a DF map on HL & had just got in the air. Nobody joined for a while so I flew around hither & dither in my F4 drinking coffee & listening to a Led Zeppelin track that really made me feel good. After maybe 15 minutes someone joins the game - I can't remember his name & I turned about to meet him when he got up. We exchanged "Hi" & "S!" & all that & I could see on the online rating that he picked a Lagg. We were both at 1k when I got a visual. He was going fast in a flat curve slightly to the left - turning away from me about 1200 meters ahead & we would meet in an angle of about 90 degrees - so I thought I'd send him a burst in front of him just to let him know I was there. I wouldn't just stalk him as he had just got up & it would be fair. So I snapped off a short burst way ahead of him & above him. Next thing: "X has been killed by Monson" http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/16x16_smiley-surprised.gif

He left the game & you know what? I understand.

It was a coop training mission for me and my mate, trying to figure out some team tactics. We were flying 109's against ace AI migs, I think, with RogerWilco.

-I have one on my six!
-Me too, I can see you.
-Come to me, I'll go your way, let's try to cross and snap shot.

So we went to each other. When I saw my friend he was obscuring his mig, so I couldn't shoot, and we crossed, I had a glimpse of his mig then but it was to late. The same happenned to my mate, he didn't shoot and I was trying to think of something when suddenly boom!

-Have you been hit?
-Nope, you?
-No...

We turned around in time to see the pieces falling to the ground: the migs had collided into each other, just like the movie.

Yes, we tried to do it again several times, but never succeded.

my luckiest kill was in FB (no AEP), some time ago. i flew my main ride the FW190 A8, when i had to land my plane in the crosscountry due to my stuck elevators (someone shot the cables apart), everything went good, gear remained intact, and so i stood there. then i realised a Yak was closing in from my 9 o'clock to finish me off, i decided to do a sharp turn on the ground (full breaks, full power, full rudder) and face him, i was so lucky to see him just in the middle of my crosshair. when he came close enough i openend up fire with all my guns, blowing him apart. i was laughing about my luck when i watched the parts of the yak raining down around me.

Similar to some others, Back in v1.22 I was flying an La5 and was almost winchester and shot up pretty good after tangling with a couple 109's. I had gotten strikes on them and they on me. Eventually we all broke off and headed home to lick our wounds. I was at about 1000m and got B&Z'd by a FW.

As he climbed away, at high speed, I turned my nose in his direction, hit zoom view and gave a short quick squeeze at alost a kilometer away. He just EXPLODED. Like Fehler, I looked around to see who had blasted the bandit and there was noone within 2 clicks of us...a second later I got the "Enemy Aircraft destroyed" message.

I thought "no way" and headed back to base bragging to my squaddies. I'm sure that FW jockey was thinking the same thing.

well, me and 3 other bfs were attacking some i16s head on, and after i missed the initial head-on attack, i did a sharp turn-climb, shot an i16 that was coming towards me ~100m away, and ducked just enough so that he and his flaming whizzed just ~1.5m away from my cockpit

i took a really cool screenshot that i printed a poster out of, with me and the i16 really close with him on fire and me turning

I set up a quick mission against 4 TB3 Bombers and me flying a BF-109. On my first pass I shot the tip of the wing off the TB3 on the far right of the formation. The TB3 spun left, smashing into the TB3 next to it, That TB3 smashed into the TB3 adjacent to it, and so on and so on. I took down 4 TB3's with a quick burst of cannon fire. I was new to the game at the time so I didn't know about the track feature.

I was having a shooting practice offline in a Dora - in an online map. The script was that I have to defend blue ships from red side's aerial bombardment.

In short, I approached 4 tu-2's (?) in close formation from behind. From around 400m, I shot one down (number two from the left), then another (number 3) from 250m, and then from around 100m i managed to set another's left engine (no. 4) on fire.

Then it started to drift sideways. When I pulled up and started to turn, I switched to outside view and to my amazement, the 4th bomber slammed directly to the 1st.

Wow...

My most insane kills were all in the He-111.But the best was on a skipping bombing run in a df serv. I lined up on a ships broad side about about 2.5 away and about 2000 meters alt.I was taking a little flak but I hadnt got in range of the high rof runs yet. I start my dive angle so I would be at 550 or so when i got to the ship. At the same time I heard my gunners go off and the familar sound of the 262 . apperantly he came into fast and and went under me at around 700kph or faster . I watch him though my bomber pos as he pulled up hard and started his loop for another pass. I figured by the time he made it back around I would have bombed the ship ,giving the the super flak in that ver wouldnt have took me out by then.I was closing fast on the ship and the flak was getting heavy by this time I was skimming the water at around 550kph jinking a little to keep the flak out of my plane .I leveled out at range and hit my pickle button twice and pulled up and hard left.I switch to my top gunner pos to see if they were going to make the mark or not.Well that 262 was on his 2nd pass aand came into hard again and my pull had messed him up so he keeped strait over the ship about the same time my pickles taged the bridge of the ship . Needless to say I got a good laugh, killing a 262 traveling at speed with a bomb, I have droped bombs on bombers and hit chase planes with delayed bombs but never a 262 at speed.

I was chasing a P-38 and he went into a power dive to try to get away from me.
I followed him down and hoped that my wings would stay on my plane.
Below us and off to the right I could see his airfield. There were several planes taking off so I figured that I was only going to get one good chance at the P-38 before I became hopelessly out numbered.
The P-38 angled toward his base and started pulling out of his dive. My plane was beginning to shake pretty bad but I followed him anyway.

As the two of us went screaming past the enemy base I figured it was now or never so I opened up on him with everything I had.

My plane was still shaking and my rounds were going all over the place.
The P-38 turned left and dropped his nose. I followed still firing.

As far as I know I didn't score a single hit on the P-38. (if I did it certainly wasn't enough to hurt him)

But I did take out two aircraft and a AAA battery on the ground !!!

A moment later I was accused of vulching and politely asked to leave the server.
The P-38 pilot came to my defense and said that I had been shooting at him and not at the airfield.

Nice guy. I wish I could remember his call-sign.

In a Sturmo, I had just pulled up from a bomb run and out of the corner of my eye I saw a flash of 109. I just instinctively fired a burst of machie gun and sawed his right wing right off of the fuselage. I yelped Damn, I just shot his f'ing wing off!!!

BTW, I think the best kill anyone has gotten on me, would have to be on the online islands map. I was waiting to take off in my P51, on the large Concrete runway.I saw an Fw190 coming in to my 9 oclock, very low, and i thought he was going to strafe me, until i saw the bomb let loose. For a moment, i sighed in relief as i thought he bombed someone else. But then i rememebered bombs skip on the concrete runways. I watched the bomb bounce twords me, and it hit my left wing and sheared it off. The bomb was on a delay so i had to just hopelessly sit there and wait for it to explode. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_frown.gif

I ince shot down an Il2 with just two bullets. I was in a turning fight flying a 109F-4 chasing an Il2. I was within 200m when I pulled the trigger only briefly. I only saw one tracer come out of each 7.9 machine gun (no cannon). Next thing I know that message comes out "(who knows who)'s body is riddled with bullets" and he went into a dive and crashed.

I remember my best kill was back in IL2 (when I was still good, haha). I was in a LaGG-3 with those little RS-82 rockets underwing on a df server. A 109F2 bounced me but missed and ran for altitude. Carrying a good deal of energy myself, I followed. He was still beating me in the climb, so I fired two salvoes of rockets at him. Right when I did this, a 190 flew out from under my blind spot below the gunsight, and ate my first pair of rockets right behind the cockpit, exploding instantly! My second salvo flew through the fireball and one of them tagged the 109 on the wing root while the other airbursted right past it and killed the engine. The pilot bailed out and I flew home, laughing all the way http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

I really wish you could record tracks back then!

Took a wing off a D9 with a single 37mm round out of a P-39 which doesn't sound all that cool except for the fact he was 700M away 70+deg deflection directly below me and hauling ***! Only round I fired in the whole engagement.

Another one that makes me smile was when I dropped a 1000lb bomb online from a P-47 onto a Zero who was just starting to spool up (allowed with ordnance). Had about a 2 second delay and it hit RIGHT in front of his nose. I wonder what he was thinking while he waited for it to cook off?

After trouncing a number of people in my -153 (not 20mm version) someone finally lost it and took a ME-323 up in the hopes of the gunners getting me (not a bad idea actually). Well, while dodging a number of attackers I had time for a single blip of the trigger at his cockpit as he came head on. Wouldn't you know? PK! I bet that guy was REALLY mad. It was less than a one sec burst http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif
