what are the winning positions?
how can i understand if i am about to get a piece of the prize or if i will get nothing out of it?

no guides or explanations in game or, at least, i cant find em

tnx in advance :P

There is no explanation like that right now and it needs to be added in game so people know what their current rank is and how much you currently will get.

I am not sure where the cut off is but at least try to get in the top 150 or so to get a reward.

i hoped there was a way... well... then i guess ill just hug my 40th position and see what happens

ok... 44th (wich gave me the 4th tier of reward) on this daily tournament ove 595 players... 1.3 milions of gold for the rewards and i got 7018 gold for my position... if anyone else posts theyr positions, the number of players and the pile of gold for the final price (also how much did they win) we could start guessing how things works

5th tier is around 3.8k i think and that is around place 100 up to place 60 i think

It is dependent on jackpot, some player caclulated that tier1 is 1,2% of the jackpot.

Anyone know what ranks correspond to which tiers? Is tier 1 top10?

r3tsa

It also depends on number of players.

I don't think that is right as I have gone to bed with only a few hours left in the tournament since it ends 6 am here and then it was around 1.4 million and 1.2% would give almost 17,000 gold and even if you mean 1-2% then 2% would give just a bit more then T2 as I get around 25,000 - 30,000 from T2.

here is my result on 30.09.2012 tournament, the notifications from duel of champions:

"you ranked 42 out of 593 competitors, which qualifies you for 4th Tier rewards! your share of the Jackpot is 8058 gold."

and i remember the total gold of Jackpot for yesterday(30.09.2012) was around 1.5 million

and one friend told me he got like 50k for the 3rd place on the other day

thats all i know, hope it is helpful

The division of gold needs to be way more spread out. I was rank 15 last night and got tier 3 rewards for 15k.

Chompman
10-01-2012, 07:58 PM
More then likely T3 has a larger amount of players compared to the higher tiers so you should get less then.

I get about 25,000 - 30,000 for T2 rewards and it's not so much about the rank you get in that tier but what tier you manage to get.

You can't spread them out more otherwise the higher tiers would be useless to go for but if they let players see what they can get ahead of time it will help.

Hi guys,

i'm trying to get some valid data to have a more accurate understanding of the rewarding on tournaments.

can you please post here your "notification" like orz0001 did ?

if enough people do it in like 2/3 days we should be able to figure out how the rewarding work ...

I think that information about current prize tier should be displayed in the leaderboard.

Here is mine from yesterday and the tournament had about a million gold with 6 hours to go:

I believe T1 is for ranks 1-5 as I have gotten rank 6 and it was a T2 I believe.

Rank 17 and 23 give you tier 3 rewards. Anyone knows when tier 2 start? 15 or 10?

I have a hunch that lucky numbers are the following, but not sure:

1 - 5
6 - 15
16 - 50
51 - 100
101 - 150

Feel free to speculate. If tier2 is correct, it should be extended I think (someone above mentioned they got tier 3 rewards for 17th and 23th places.)

I can tell you you're off by alot, nowhere close. ;) I have more accurate data, but I can't share it yet.

I do agree that tier 2 needs to be expanded (hint: it's the same number of players as tier 1).

I've also been gathering data on Tiers, but when I CONFIRMED that Tiers depends on number of players in the Tournament I gave up. ;)

You will never be accurate with Tiers because they change in-between tournaments.

EDIT: Only the devs can give you accurate formula :)

Wow, So all the players that won't make it in the top 5%(-10%) basicaly have NO reason to play tournament at all?
From a Game Developers perspective (and in fact I work in the games industry, too :) ) I think this is not a wise decision.

greetings

There is a thread with more accurate information.
Given how easy it is to hit tier 5, you definitely have reason to play a few games.

Ok. I tried.
I already lost some games in tourny mode, but the enemies were getting better. How I know? Their decks only consisting of rare cards, some one with prison strategy. I wont have cards like that in a year when I cant win and make no gold :(

I will stay out of tournament. And if the missions end or are no fun anymore I see my self loosing the long term interest here :/
I like the game mechanics, but everything around does not look like they spend a lot of time on that.

Just grind for a bit in normal ranked, keep playing.
The levels grow really fast at low levels and are giving you plenty of gold to open many Reinf packs & ~Box/Week, which in about two or three weeks will get you pool good enough.
With some luck after the first box you can start hitting T3 in tourney fairly easily, which already has a nice pay out. :)

You saying to me, that new F2P player can easily reach T3 reward with only one Box? I don't know how much luck and how many ******ed opponents in tourney you need to get to be able to do that. Just my observation as new player.

Uraxor

Either way (with luck or less luck), in about two or three weeks [constant playing] will get you pool good enough.
Which in turn leads to you can start hitting T3 in tourney fairly easily, which already has a nice pay out.
T5 = 2 wins (60 pts), T4 will be probably about 100, so ~4 wins, T3 is 6 wins, ~150 pts. At that level, you will still meet mainly Inferno rush and some other random decks, possible to win against.
Granted, even the 200+ pts players need to get there first and if you meet them, you will probably lose. But that happens to everyone - and (unless it's Throne/Prison which is getting nerfed during this week [finally]) even against those you have a chance to win - bad draws happen to all of us. So if you have 1hr to play - try getting to T5/T4. If you have 2+ hrs, push your luck a little, try for T3 - if it doesn't work out/you get upset by getting Prison'd/bad luck, stay at T4/5 for the day.

I hope that is finally good enough for you ^^

It's probably also fair to add, that if you've never played CGs before and have no idea of what the hell are you doing, this won't apply.
(But that's hardly the game's problem.)

I think that Uraxor is giving those advices from a perspective of more kind of hardcore player. I do such a mistake a lot of times - not considering that most of the players are casuals. They play this game from time to time and leveling is for them very long and hard proceess. Playing in the Tourney for newcomers is also very stressfull as the Tourneys are dominated by hardcore farmers which takes all the best places whenever they want. Even T3 is hard to achieve nowadays - as there's a lot of very good players who are looking for this Tier to achieve.
I would say that Uraxor advices were valid about 2 months ago but now it's much harder for a newbie to grind fast.

Yeah, game might be at point where there should be easier start for newcomers.

I would like to see how Uraxor gets to T3 without epics and rares and without any Void Raising cards. If he could achive this (without taking too much matches since in tourney you get only like 1/3 of gold) then I could take him seriously. Now I only see player, where cards wins for him, not skill.

Still have no accurate number for the Topic?

All I know for now is

Tier 1 ... Rank ... 1 - X
Tier 2 ... Rank ... X - X
Tier 3 ... Rank ... X - 100
Tier 4 ... Rank ... 101 - 200
Tier 5 ... Rank ... 201 - 300 (maybe)

The Rank for each Tier will swing by 10-20 depend on how many people in the tournament

Anyone have an idea what the missing X is which rank?

I'm not saying that Uraxor is right, because C4r-n4ge could be right(definitely 2 months ago it was possible), i don't know and i don't really care, just do yourself a favor and stop lying to yourself, having more and better cards is very useful and helps a lot, but they never win for you, so just stop whining while someone tries to give you(and others) some good advice.

Oh, so now if I state my thought, which doesn't agree with "old gang", I'm whining? Ofcourse cards don't win by themself, most of the time first 6 drawn cards win a game. DUH!
