This specs are wrong. They say that Win XP is not supported but they say that DX9 card is minimum. Win Vista and higher OS is working only on DX10 and DX11 cards. Also DX9 cards don't have Shade 4.0, they have 3.0 Max and DX10 and DX11 are supporting Shaded 4.0

Model: Aspire X1470
Processor: AMD Dual-Core A3400 APU with Radeon(tm)HD 6410D Graphics, 2.70 GHz
RAM: 3GB DDR3
System Type: 64-Bit Operating System

meets minimum requirements for the game?
Need to know please!

Well lets see. If game doesn't support Windows XP only logical reason is because it uses DX10 or higher. If game supports DX9 i don't see why Windows XP is not supported. And if Shader 4.0 is minimum DX9 card is not an option because Shader 4.0 cards are DX10 or higher.

So i would like to ask Shade, Widow or UbiGabe to check with devs what are real requirements.

Looks like a mistake. The list is almost identical to the rumoured requirements that were released a few months ago. The DX9 GPU is the only difference.

Ok. So if I can't run the game smoothly on DX11, can I turn DX11 off and use DX9/10 instead?

Well, as others have said elsewhere, if XP is not bieng supported, then DX9 should not be in the minimum list, it should be DX10 at least.

Any word on the Recommended Requirements?

I hope it does support DX 11.

If my CPU is under the minimum, then i'll just have to see if i can overclock it to 3 GHz

"Processor: 2.66 GHz Intel Core2 Duo E6700 or 3.00 GHz AMD Athlon 64 X2 6000+ or better recommended"

the word recommended bothers me. the list must be mix of the minimum and the recommended.
im running on a core 2 duo 2.4ghz. what will be the consequences if i dont upgrade my processor? other parts of my Pc exceeds the posted requirements.

AnthonyA85
09-26-2012, 05:52 PM
Exactly, I just looked up the specs for the Nvidia GS 8400, and it's specs are so low, i'd be surprised if it could run minesweeper. And that 2.66 GHz cpu for minimum? I don't think so. 1.8 is minimum for all prior AC games, and most people will have cpus that run at stock settings of 2.4, especially if they're still using Core2 Duo/Quad.

This specs need more clarification, and having the Recommended specs added would be nice.

someone apparently asked ubisoft tech support on twitter about the specs, and they said the DX9 thing was most likely a typo, in which case, they probably meant DX10 for minimum, in which case, the game will almost certainly support DX11 for recommended.

Now, with any luck, my cpu will handle it (my BIOS is showing two different frequencies for my cpu, 2.4 GHz and 3.6 GHz), If not, i'm sure i can overclock it, when i figure out how.

next up: the dual-layer drive. I've got a BD-DVD combo drive, do these usually read DVD double layer too?
And WHY - if there is so much data - is there no BluRay version of the game?!

Really, We need to wait a little more to know the real system requirements to play AC3. Maybe are nearly the Revelations Specs, I hope so. Maybe all I need is to change my Operating system.
From XP to Seven. But I can wait to know what are the truly RECOMMENDED requirements for the game. I can't wait to buy the game and enjoy everything that offers, like I did with the other that I have.

Wait for the Official Requirements.

Safety and peace be upon you Assassins.

Probably not, the 330 is a very low end graphics card, if you can run it at all, it'll be on low-medium settings at most.

Also depends on how much ram your notebook has.

Hey guys!

So I have read the system requirments for the Assassins's Creed version for PC. I would like to know if I can run this game giving these specifications of my Toshiba laptop: AMD Turion X2 @2,1 GHz, 4 GB RAM DDR2 800 MHz, ATI Radeon Mobility HD 3650 512 MB and 128-bit, 17" monitor. I saw that the minimum video card supported is ATi 3800. I checked on the internet and the only difference it and betwen mine is that it has only 128 bit band width. The previous games I played on medium and 20-25 fps. Do I have any chance to run this game, even in low details?

spectatorx
10-02-2012, 10:10 AM
Requirements which ubisoft posted were not accurate, they say: minimum gpus are geforce 8600 and radeon hd3850.

Geforce 8600 has performance similar to radeon hd2600xt and hd3650 but they say minimum radeon which can run the game is hd3850.

We just need to wait for ubisoft to repost proper requirements.

But if we might suggest with this requirements which ubisoft posted previously i can say you should be able to run the game 'cos 3650 has similar performance to 8600.

Well, supposing that these Minimum Requirements posted before ARE final, I have a question to ask.
I have a Toshiba laptop with Windows 7, i5-450M CPU @ 2.4 GHZ Turbo Boost (up to 2.66 GHz), AMD Mobility Radeon HD 5650 GPU and 4 GB RAM.
Do you think that I am going to run this game? Please?
Thanks in advance!

I'm glad it doesn't support Dx9. Usually when the game natively supports Dx10 it's FAR better optimized. It also means that it's not a console port. A console port would support Dx9. Ubisoft is being very awesome at the moment.

XP is an old OS.

Support for XP (in terms of application development such as games and other software) stopped this year. You better get used to seeing game requirements that don't list XP, because it's going to start happening more and more.

Even Hitman doesn't support XP, and as far as I remember Battlefield 3 as well.

you MIGHT be ok, just so long as you have plenty of RAM and a fast dual/quad core CPU to back it up.

Looks like they didn't change much, just removed the DX 9 listing from the video card requirements (which does me ok since i just got a DX 11 card), that CPU requirement is still a bit high IMO.

Now all they need to do is list the recommended requirements, though i can't see them being much higher, at least in terms of RAM

I have an asus k52j sx006v, I was able to play AC 1, 2, B, R on low resolution. The pc matches every requirement except for the 2.6 GHz processor. It has a 2. 53 GHz processor. Can my pc still run this game, (of course on low resolution)? Or would it be better to not buy it because my pc would probably not be able to run the game?

There is in the game pets like dogs, cats ?
for more aliveness....

Are there children in the cities in large numbers,
or again only adults peoples ?

Will the game have a pigs, cows, chickens ... ?

Big problem of games with open worlds like GTA \ gothic \Mafia-2, -
realistically of the living world of city.

Cats, dogs, playing children and other ... - they never have it.
And this looks primitive ...
:(

As it is necessary more variety species of birds ..
Not only eagles and pigeons ..

Such as domestic birds in cages...
parrots for example...

Recommended requirements for PC games are too low nowadays. Usually hardware under "recommended requirements" only allow the game to be played at 30-40 fps at most (maybe it's just me, but I wouldn't even consider it smooth)

Assassins Creed Revelations's recommended requirements for GPU/CPU was only a 450GTS and dual core E6700 2.66. I ran the game with:

i5 760/560GTX/8GB
@1680x1050/max settings/v-sync disabled

Despite getting 60-80 fps for the most part , I still had huge fps dips to 30-40 while hopping on rooftops, carriage chase scenes or synchronizing a viewpoint.

IMO if you want to play it at 1080p resolution with ultra settings, go a couple of tiers above their recommended hardware.

However, it seems like Nvidia cards are not as good as AMD cards for this game (I'm just judging from all the fps people post on youtube videos), would be great if anyone can confirm this.

You are wrong. Abandoning XP and DX9 mean that they are finally making something more than simple port. That means Ubisoft is finally doing something good for PC players. Windows XP is outdated OS and next year i think that it will be fully abandoned in gaming industry. This year only few games had XP support.

Yes? Microsoft ends with support windows XP of 8th april 2014, AnvilNext engine is built on dx9. Tell my why game developers issued on the consoles they are also old? Why ubisoft promise update for game bud to this day i not available? Why no ubisoft support for pc gamers? Simply answer, as I wrote.
DX9 and windows XP are not out because they are available current generation of consoles.

can someone answer a few questions ?

im pretty tired of frame rate issues on the consoles(my ps3) and i was thinking of buying an afforable gaming PC, the problem is i don´t know anything about computers or what all of this "dx11 ultra navidio window 67" stuff is and i have a feeling that it´ll bite me is the *** sooner or later. Neither do i know how to hook it up to my tv (who want to look at a tiny screen ?). And i´ll need a controller(again what do you do ?)

Well 3 main parts in PC are CPU, GPU and RAM memory.

For CPU you should look midrange something like Intel i5 2500K or Intel i5 3570K (they can be overclocked but you probably wont do that :D)
For GPU you should go somewhere between midrange and highend something like nVidia GForce 660Ti or nVidia GForce 560 GTX
For RAM Memoru i thing that 6-8 GB DDR 3 at 1600MHz should be enough.
For motherboard is tricky because that choice is depending what you will do after 2-3 years. You can buy cheap one and you will be stuck with it or you can buy more expensive one and after 3 years add another graphic card and new CPU and you will have better PC :D

Everything depends on your budget and your future plans and prices at your country For me as PC gamer and person who uses PC a lod for work it is always best to give little more mone and buy more expensive components that i will not upgrade for 4+ years.

Not at the same settings if you don't have enough power under the hood. AC 3 is a more demading game than previous entries, going by the minimum specs.

I'm certainly not looking to go full DX11, as i almost never do that with my games (Mostly in fear of my computer bursting into flames).

DX 10 Maxed-ish is perfectly fine with me. Assuming the game actually lets me turn off the extra DX11 features

You can be absolutely certain that you will be able to toggle off the DX11 features, and by the look of it your GC is enough to handle the game nearly maxed out at 1080p.

Okay, here we go again. This time I want a clear answer( in which settings I will be able to play), since I have no idea how things work:

Windows 7
Procesor: Intel(R) Core (TM)2 Quad CPU Q8300 @2.50 GHz 2.50 GHz
RAM: 4GB
32-bit computer
GPU: NVIDIA GeForce GT 240
Ram installed: 4GB

I WAS able to run ACR in high settings without any problem.

BlastThyName

Low/medium settings I'm afraid. Given that AC3 is DX10-11 only it's going to be a lot more demanding than ACR, even at 720p/DX10 your computer is going to struggle judging by your GC performance in other games.

Your GC is very weak, I doubt you are able to run ACR at 1080p/high settings with this.

Keep in mind that my predictions are only based on a "ligh" use of DX11, what resolution are you playing at ? You can forget about 1080p with decent settings I'm sure but 720p/medium/no AA could be achieved.
Besides, 32 bit does not take advantage of 4gb of RAM

I don't believe this at all. ACR on PC is heavily CPU limited as well, given your processor I find this very hard to believe 1080p/high settings is achievable.

I'm a bit worried the game will become choppy in certain parts. I have:

(Direct from DXDiag)
Windows XP Professional (5.1, compilation 2600) (I have no clue what that last part is, but I'm putting it there anyway)
AMD Athlon II X2 240 processor, MMX, 3DNow (2 CPUs), ~2.8GHz
2048 Ram? I'm not clear on this one, since that seems stupidly low
NVidia GeForce GT 430
And I have no clue what the sound card even is, but if that's worth anything, it can run Borderlands 2, all the other ACs, and Team Fortress 2.

From Borderlands 2, it's a fact that my computer has trouble handling PhysX. It might just be Borderlands 2's PhysX usage being badly-optimized, or my cooling fan might have been clogged at the time (I forget to clean it often), so I'm concerned I might not get to watch the giant towers crumble in their full splendor.

I think it will run maxed out on my rig but some gentle encouragement would be nice :)

Intel i7 860 (first generation) 2.8 ghz (something roughly in this region)
6 GB DDR3 RAM
AMD HD Radeon 6770 1GB DDR3 Video Card
Creative EMU-404 Studio Soundcard
Win 7 64-bit

Ideally I need to run it at 1080p, as im outputting to a HD TV and anything less looks bloody awful on that display (something to do with the way the TV is optimised for 1080p)
I'm currently running Sniper Elite and Dead Island maxed out at 1080p @ 30fps Avg, but I've had no experience with AC games on the PC.

Thanks in advance for feedback!

These days I've reinstalled AC:R and I run it on a Toshiba Satellite laptop with these specs: AMD Turion x2 64 @2,1 GHz, 4 GB Ram DDR2 @800 MHz, ATi Radeon HD 3650 with 512 MB and 128 bit under Windows 7 x64. Playing on the 1440x900 resolution and settings set to 2/4 I get 20-25, sometimes 30-35. Lowering the resolution to 1024x768 I get 25-30 fps average. Given these detailes should I aventure and buy myself a copy of AC III? Also, I don't get why lowering the resolution I don't get a bigger boost in fps or have them stabilize.

Thank you!

I have no idea if my computer will be able to run AC3 or not, here are my computer specs:

OS: Windows 7
Processor: AMD A8-3800 APU with Radeon(tm) HD Graphics (4 CPUs), ~2.4GHz
Memory: 8192MB RAM
Graphics Card: AMD Radeon HD 6550D
Memory: 4069MB

Feedback would be much appreciated so that I may know if an upgrade is required, thank you.

So just a question about the requirements if anyone can answer. When on laptop graphics cards, it says
"Laptop versions of these cards may work, but are not supported. These chipsets are the only ones that will run this game."
Im confused at what this means. If I have a laptop with a AMD Radeon HD 6620G, would this work even if its a laptop? How can it work but not be supported? If someone could please explain this to me that would be great.

Some information the team have released on PC features:

Multimonitor and extra wide monitor support for both Eyefinity and nVidia surround.

Tessellation supported

Environment quality (normal, high, very high):
· Increases loading range
· Increases the LOD quality

Texture quality :
· Normal = console quality
· High = full rez textures we had available. Most of the world is 2x the rez, some stuff like animals can be 4 or 16x.

Anti-aliasing quality:
· Normal: FXAA (similar quality to console FXAA we shipped with on 360/PS3)
· High: FXAA with highest possible setting
· Very high: TXAA 4x (or FXAA+MSAA4x on AMD cards)

Shadow quality:
· Normal: console-like shadow map resolution and filtering
· High: 2x shadow map resolution
· Very high:
o 2x shadow map resolution
o new Hexagonal filter (as well as cross-cascade blending)
o Improved Ambient Occlusion algorithm

That is only some in game basic settings - however most graphic cards allow you to override in game settings, if you need too - as long as your PC hits the minimum requirements, then you should be OK for the basic settings.

Please remember though, laptop versions of cards, may not always perform as well as the desktop version and they are not officially supported.

There was huge demand - to make the game look better than console - so the additional DX11 features, do require more hardware, however using them is down to you.

Guys, I'm really confused. What DirectX does AC3 support? Is it either with Dx9.0c or just only Dx10 and Dx11? The requirements on Wikipedia state that the game supports Win XP while the other sources state that it doesn't. I hope it's like the game Dishonored where the official requirements state it only works on Win Vista/7/8 but in reality it runs smoothly on Win XP and Dx9.0c..

Highly unlikely, this is not a gaming rig at all. This GC is not meant to run graphics intensive games such as AC 3.

Bad news guys,

I'm barely getting 30-40fps with 1680x1050 + lowest settings. I'm running the game on a i5 760@2.8ghz/8GB RAM/560GTX, so anyone with a slower card should probably look to lower their resolution by a lot or purchasing a new card.

The good news is, even at the default settings, the game looks simply amazing.

your strugling with those specs thats a concern isn`t tthe 310,54 beta driver supposed to improve performance for ac3 ? dont install it if you have win 8 it stopped it from booting. for people with lower end graphics card thats gonna be a pain sneed another patch to fix that most likely , mind im still wait for my copy ordered the join or die edition as the pre order was at 34.99 although i got a great deal still bloody waiting.

If you got it for free that's one thing. Obviously no one would refuse that. Last time I saw Alienware pricing, though, a system like that went for well over $4000 when I know for a fact that you could build the same thing minus the flashy case for around $2000. I just think that it's crazy that people pay double the value of the components just to get Alienware on the case in pretty lights.

I have a pretty nice set up too, so it's not jealousy. I just have 2 GTX 670s instead of 680s. Honestly if you had paid full retail price for it I just wanted to warn you that you got robbed. It is a nice computer though.

as i said i wasnt having a pop at you geezer and dont think that your jealous but a lot of people are so they tend to bad mouth stuff and i agree they are over priced but not by a great deal plus you do get a 5 yr warranty with it so its not all bad i have made a few mdifacations to it but i wouldnt pay that kind o money to be fair but still for all that hard ware you still would get much change out of £2000 and sounds like you have nice machine yourself. it also depends on how long you can wait for new gear i used to wait 1 yr before i upgraded so i could save a few quid . i appreciate your honesty its refreshing to hear.

you said that we can use optional controller (Xbox 360 Controller for Windows recommended) but i have one and it dont work.... what can i do ?

I have no problemn using it. Make sure you selected it from Options - > Controlls or simply restart the game (try to have the controller already connected before launching the game so you won't have to select it from game's menu).

@iraklidarcho: Try one or more of the following:
1. Go into the Steam folder /steamapps/common/assassinscreed3 and find the two exe files. Right click properties and then check the run as admin.
2. In your graphics settings, turn FXAA off. This usually solves it for nVidia users.
3. For Windows 7 users: type %temp% into the search bar in the start-up menu and delete the temp folder.

You might try this if nothing else works, given you have NVidia video card: ,,It has been noted that rolling back to driver 301.42 and 306.23 have shown to increase perormance and problems associated with getting the game running properly".

If you get these freezes and crashes, try the following:
1. Right-click Assassin’s Creed 3 > Properties > Local Files tab > Verify Integrity of Game Cache
2. Update your nVidia / ATI graphics drivers. Check our Technical References page for proper and official download links.
3. Turn off SLI / Crossfire then start the game. See if it stabilizes Assassin’s Creed 3 performance.
4. Turn off your anti-virus software before launching the Assassin’s Creed 3, but make sure you turn it back on after playing. Make sure Windows Defender is also disabled.
5. Try using only one GPU first (turn the other one off via your nVidia / ATI graphics control panel)
6. Try running the game in Windowed Mode (frequently works for low-end PCs)
7. Disable anti-aliasing and filtering, restart Assassin’s Creed 3
8. Disable V-sync, restart Assassin’s Creed 3
9. Disable background apps, and turn off your anti-virus software
10. In Windows 7 right-click the Assassin’s Creed 3 exe file, go to the ‘Compatibility Mode’ tab and check ‘Disable Desktop Composition’

I need someone's help. Will my computer be able to play assassin's creed 3 good (without lag or long loading time), with these specs? I tried playing yesterday and it was starting to lag.

Windows 7
Pentium(R) Dual-Core CPU E5700 @3.00GHz
3 GB
DirectX 11

If i need to add more of my specs then please tell me.
Do i need to update anything? Thanks for helping.(Sorry it's my first time on the forums, so i don't know if i put this in the right thread) Also, if i need to update something, how do i do it.

Intel i7 860 (first generation) 2.8 ghz
6 GB DDR3 RAM
AMD HD Radeon 6770 1GB DDR3 Video Card
Win 7 64-bit

I already own this game on the Xbox 360, but the pop in and lag are driving me insane.
If i trade it in for the PC version do you think I can get a respectable frame rate on this hardware @ 1080p full settings?
I'm running it out to a HDTV, so any lower res will look awful.
I can totally max out Sniper Elite and Dead Island @ 30 fps avg, for example...

I bought the game on Friday and today I tried to install the cd key and when I enter the code and then asks you to enter an invalid cd key or offline .... In this case, what's up? I just bought a game 40 + Euros and throw in the bin?? otherwise, it is better to return the price of the game UBISOFT, otherwise there will be consequences ... I checked a little on the internet, and one guy played BF3 on Ultra, and the FPS was around 10-20 with that graphics card, so I think you can handle this game on medium at least.

Cheers!

Sound Card: DirectX 9.0c-compliant (5.1 surround sound recommended)
DVD-ROM: Dual-layer drive
Hard Drive Space: 17 GB
Peripherals Supported: Windows-compatible keyboard, mouse, optional controller (Xbox 360 Controller for Windows recommended)
Multiplayer: 256 kbps or faster broadband connection

NVIDIA GeForce 8600 GT / 9 / 100 / 200 / 300 / 400 / 500 / 600 series or better

I decided to post here because no one from support has addressed my problem in other threads concerning xbox 360 controller problems on the PC. My PC recognizes the controller and it works fine with other games, but is not recognized by AC3. I have reloaded drivers which are current, run the Windows 7 tests for the controller and everything checks out. Can you guys help me out?

I maxed it out. Full textures, very high AA, full shadows and environments @ 1080p, and I was getting a comfortable 40fps until I hit Boston.
At Boston frames dipped to sub- 30fps so i turned AA down to High, and it was smooth again.
Then when i hit the Frontier (largest area) frames dipped again, so I turned AA down to normal.
Seems like I get a justabout comfortable fps in every area now, with barely noticeable drops at times. Still less laggy than the console version.
Jaggies arent that bad either. Normal AA, again, seems to be better than what the console can manage by a mile.
Incredible game and quite happy with performance considering the amazing visuals.

My PC is above minimum requirements. I play at 1920x1080 with very decent framerate. All drivers are updated.

The game does not work, and I don't know why I still buy anything from Ubisoft. I think I'll stop buying it until I am sure they did a decent work with at least less crashes.

This is a shame.

I just bought and installed Assassins Creed 3 on my Laptop and it doesn't run properly. I am asuming it is the video card even thought I have an AMD Raedon HD6000, you say Laptop version may not be supported. My character is impossible to control - all jittery, I am so disappointed.
OK I am now going to try and resell the game, but I have registered the DVD to my name which would mean anyone buying from me will be unable to re-register it. Any suggestion?

You have to give your uplay account details too.
Still, I don't get your game's problem. I have a laptop with ATi Radeon HD 3650 video card and it runs ok until Boston. I advice you to reconsider selling it because you'll use acces to your other games.

Ok, here is the deal: i buy the game, and dont running with enough FPS. I want to back to the business i bought, becouse the minimal requirements is a LIE, but the shopkeeper saying me he is not able to give back my money, becouse i activated my game. So, now what? You dont do any patch, any news about a patch - the game is unplayable now. I buy something what do not work properly. Please, contact me, and give my money back. This is a full of ****.

The game worked for me, but I am having two major problems.

1) Singleplayer cutscenes keep crashing, and I can't see a "skip" option anywhere
2) After completing the tutorials, I just get the "Punkbuster is not correctly installed" message.

Hi,

My desktop is rigged with
Processor: Intel C2duo E7500 2.93 ghz
4GB RAM
GC: Nvidia 650ti Dc2 OC edition

Q1: Will I be able play the game? If yes can I expect decent performance in 1080p resolution?
Q2: How to download the "update" that occurs post installation from another PC?
Note: I connect to the internet using a 2generation mobile modem. So downloading that update which is about 100000000bytes is seriously out of question. At the most I can connect online for log-in and activation purpose(enter CD-Key).
I am not able to cancel that update stuff.

Getting about 25-35 FPS ingame on multiplayer, with 18-24 in Boston (a bit more if i point the camera at the ground).
