This week's development update has been added to the site. This week we present a "pot-pourri" of some of the aircraft you will find in the AEP add-on due out shortly. Just a few images to whet your appetite.

The update is available now by clicking here (http://www.il2sturmovik.com/forgotten_battles/fb_development.php).

Cool!

Not planes only then...

Airplanes are now built to carry a pilot and a dog in the cockpit: the pilot's job is
to feed the dog, and the dog's job is to bite the pilot if he touches anything...

Thanks for the update.. Looks like the Hawk 75
will be flyable?

The Spit Mk IX looks sweet too.

Looks great, but it's too bad we didn't get any new PF content in the Update. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/16x16_smiley-sad.gif

Actually the M3 Stuart and the Matilda in the end are not from AEP, that's PF. Sporting new high-res camos http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Thanks for pointing that fact out , Luthier. For a moment there the Med advocates were whooping and high-fiving each other, thinking that the tanks plus the desert maps (possibly) included in the AEP patch meant that their dreamed-of Med theater was soon to be here http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif.

Hi, Guys
Luthier, have you looked at j-aircraft.com? they have a ton of info available, especially with respect to colour and markings. For example, I know that they have pieces of Japanese Vals and Zeros from both Pearl and Midway which have been analysed by forensic labs to verify the colours, none of which were white. They also provide colour standards. The research section contains a wealth of info.
Hope this helps. Some of the markings and colours in both FB and AEP were way off. One needs to go to the indy skin guys to get anything realistic. Another example is the Zero ailerons. The only ones to have the external mass balance weights were the Model 11's and some early Model 21's, through airframe #326, in fact, to counteract aileron flutter. Subsequent Zeros had this weight moved inside to the nose section of each aileron. Since these details are easy to verify (Zero, by Robert Mikesh, Motor Books Intl.), it sometimes makes me question the performance models. Hope the above mentioned site helps, it really is a gold mine.
