Is this game P2W?

09-15-2012, 02:18 PM
No it is not. I'm already in Top 15 without paying any money.

Top 15? Is there lack of players? Or have you been playing alot?

There's like 2k player on the leaderboard. He has probably played a lot :) So there's no problem

Actually I'm 19th now.
23 duels won as Inferno so not a lot ;)
Playing as Inferno faction.

Was first today for a while w/o paying any money with necro deck. It isn't p2w (yet).

The game is fun to play at the moment, even without paying. I can agree to that.
But in the long term, I'm afraid it'll require a significant investment to "keep up".
At least "significant" when compared to some of the other f2p titles that I'm playing.

On the long run in every tcg games the one who invests more into the game usually gets the best cards. / full decks...
if you are good and got a good tactic you have a chance of winning.

As somebody said in this thread: 'It isn't p2w (yet).' The open beta shifted it more towards p2w by taking out the 1000 seal rewards every 5 lvls. Once this game is out of beta anything can happen. Take PoxNora for example. They also have gold (you earn it just like in this game) and another resource you cannot earn but have to pay for. You can still buy cards (they have a different name I know, I still call them cards) with gold in PoxNora, but only the older ones. If you want to buy the newest set, you have to pay real money. I'm not saying this will happen to Duel of Champions as well. Just be aware that these kinds of games are made to earn money, not to fulfill your needs of free to play, no p2w, and well ballanced cards. I also have to mention LOL as an example of a really free to play, no strings attached, no p2w game. This game could also go in that direction. Imho that would be the smart thing to do...

In my opinion, as soon as some way of market arrives, it is in good shape.

At the moment it is just stupid luck. If you get good boosters and well balanced cards it is fine. But if u get unlucky and miss key cards. Your pretty much in a bad spot. You can't do anything against that bad luck execpt get more boosters. Which is a) very time consuming or b) very expensive. So what we need is a market, a trade system or a convert system (i:E convert 2 rares you do not need into a new random rare) . Otherwise their will be unlucky persons who are just frustrated.

Totally pay to win...

Rather totally noob. It's your second post and i bet you are below 200 elo. You have no idea about any aspect of the game. If it's too hard for you then play some card games that are provided by your operation system (though probably too tough as well).
