What do you think of Jesper Kyd and Lorne Balfe? This change will benefit the AC3 soundtrack? Do you think Lorne Balfe will produce music that fit the context of the game?

Quite honestly, Jesper is good, but he isn't some 'God tier' people make him to be, there are other composers just as good. Lorne has worked with Hans Zimmer in a LOT of things so I will say he is good.

Well, it's not really fair to compare it with Venice Rooftops, since that was a masterstroke even for Jesper. But I think people are being too judgmental about Lorne Balfe so soon. His Revelations theme was pretty awesome, although it was overused in the game. The song at the beginning of the Frontier demo is pretty cool too. But we just haven't heard enough of his material to make a call just yet.

Maybe... But they shouldn't have ditched Jesper.

Memories...

It's amazing the way he implements harmonics in his tracks.

Jesper was awesome in AC, the variety of settings gave him A LOT of opportunities....... But it is time to move on, I am sure that there will be both harmonic and "hollywoodesque" in the game. Remember the beginning of the Frontier demo??? The eerie native chant???? It is very cool, give the guy some credit, he is been found guilty without a proper trial.........

Lorne Balfe did an outstanding job in Assassin's Creed Revelations. It really captured the sadness of the game, you know, finally saying goodbye to both Altair and Ezio. Still, I think that Jesper Kyd has created a masterpiece of a soundtrack that has set the Assassin's Creed franchise apart from the crowd. Sad to see him go.

They want this game to feel different, so getting a different composer is important in my opinion. Jesper is great, but it's good to see them move on to different things.

As long as we have something similar to "Apple chamber" or we have some Classical mix with light Dubstep then im ok

I need to hear the AC3 soundtrack to decide. The soundtrack of AC2 will always have a special place in my heart. Sometimes I pop AC2 in just so I can run around and hear the music.

God **** it! This is nowhere as interesting as ACII's (i mean the music, of course!)
I think that ACIII's soundtrack will have to grow on me, unlike for the past 4 games. Quite a shame that they've dropped Jesper Kyd.

Like i said before, I have no doubt about it that it will be a soundtrack of very high quality but it could as well be the medal of honor soundtrack , and that's the problem.

It doesn't seem like it's made by Lorne... and I am quite unsure who made it.

Oh wow, I like it already, they REEK of tribal origin, lovely, and so my friends, we learn that there are other composers just as good as Jesper, just because he was there from the start doesn't mean nobody else can capture the feel....or so I think >_>

love jesper's work on the AC's music but i think his style wouldn't suit AC3 that well, not because it'd be bad but because it would exude a different feel than the one that seems to be intended.
jesper's music in AC, especially AC2, give off a smooth and refined feeling like with "ezio's family" or "venice rooftops" even at it's most primal with "chariot chase" that feeling is still predominant.
AC3 and connor need more music that gives off a tribal and rough around the edges feel to it and from what i've heard so far, lorne's style fits well with that theme.

Guys, Its not about style, If Jesper wanted a tribal style, then he would`v done so. Just look at his work on AC I and compare it with AC II, Completely different. Such is the case with Lorne. people are using his Revelations work as reference, but they do not understand that he was asked a job, to work on the cinematic portion of the soundtrack.

In the end, Jesper would`v done an extraordinaire job had he composed the tracks for AC III, but we cant judge Lorne like this. Its completely unfair..
