View Full Version : Ten reasons why TB-3 owns He-111

10. Retractable landing gear are for pussies.

9. The TB3 comes from the factory with two complimentary tickets to Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow.

8. You can spin the turrets all the way around and blow the heads off your crew members. Just in case, you know, they don't show adequate enthusiasm for the glorious leadership of Comrade Stalin.

7. Anna Kourikova thinks the TB3 is sexy. Seriously. She told me so.

6. Four engines is always more fun than two.

5. The bombsight is so straight-forward, a chimpanzee with lead poisoning and Alzheimer's can operate it.

4. Art deco rocks. Bauhaus sucks. Any questions?

3. Two separate high-powered twin-FAB1000 strikes, followed up by a third carpet-bombing attack. FOR EACH AND EVERY ONE.

2. Cutting-edge technology, codename "Mittens and Earmuffs," keeps the crew in top-notch shape in all weather conditions.

1. Three words: POINTY SHARP TEETH. Does the He-111 have pointy sharp teeth? Yeah, that's what I thought.

I can't argue with you Mitlov. #11 could be the fact that bombing a target from a near hovering speed would be much easier than at 350kph. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/blink.gif It's also great for taking really good scenic photos; you don't get that blurred effect.
#12 Prop-pitch is a waste of technology.
#13 TB-3 has a cool place to keep rolling pencils. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/16x16_smiley-wink.gif

In the TB3 the bombadier's cabin comes with a comfortable desk, a nice sharp pencil and a diary with a lock.

In the He111 the bombadier gets a nice doggy bed to lie at the pilot's feet.

Hmmm...xenios, did you say "Doggy bed"?
Think i'll trade my bombadier in for a German Shepherd then...

Bombing a target at near hovering speeds?

Flak, anyone? =) About the only thing the TB-3 is good for is getting shot.

How many times as the TB-3's fire extinguishers saved me? Lost count...
Also TB-3 takes a lot more bombs than the He111's mediocre load.
Also the TB-3 is so dam slow most Focke Wulfs blow right past before they have even had a chance to aim at ithttp://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

i love the early plane sets with the Tb3 in it
you just have no worries at all i love it when im in that thing and an emil comes in unload his ammo flys away hit by my laser plasma guns
he crashes a few minuts later by an engine failure ,oh his ammo? that went in my wings and fuselage lol i keep it to sell it at a scrap metal yard they even give me some money for it http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/mockface.gif

but the TB3 doesnt owns the He111 just take a He111 with 4xSC500 with bomb delay set to 0.0 fly above that sponge bob square pants plane and voila ,kaboom bye bye Tb3 done it a few times online http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif

How about the fact a TB3 landed at an airbase makes for a Much Better! vulching platform than a He111. The He's gun ports offer such restricted range of motion that getting strikes is almost lucky.

TB-3 ROCKS!!!!!

Anyone who says different then I'll come by and bomb yer house at 120kph

http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/784.gif

Me and a squad mate a few months back were kinda strangely obsessed with flying the bombers (I think at the time we wuz expecting the B-25 to come with AEP so we wanted to practice flying multi engines).

Turned out that the best thing we could was to have bomber dogfights!!!

We would go with only default ammo (no bombs) in either a TB-3 or a He-111 and duke it out till one of us died!!

http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/smileys-gun2.gif

We found that in a dogfight between a He-111H-6 and a TB-3-4M-17 with just guns that the TB-3 would usually win!!!

I would say that's sound proof that the TB-3 simply OWNS!!!!!!!

That may be accurate. TB~3 was pretty tough, and simple. Just not fast...although half of production was versions later than our early 1930s versions we have now. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_frown.gif -- reaching almost 300km/hr.

A DANCE-OFF!

But yeah.. I hold a special place in my heart for the TB-3. Sure it's a flying deathcrate, but it's a flying deathcrate with HEART, dammit!

On the other hand, I routinely achieve speeds on my way to work in the morning that are faster than its cruising speed...

So if one of you ever comes to bomb my house, My escape plan is to walk briskly away.

Later,

The water buckets were still in prototype(#35001) during the war. There were small design issues and a lack of funding for further development. The problem was only solved on September 14th 1957, long after the war. The engineers started with a new design (#35002). The new bucket was equipped with only one hole. Further development brought the "handle"(#35002.5) in 1961.
On August 14th 1957 there was a mysterious fire at the National Bucket Research Labs and all the previous designs were lost. Ironically, had the fire been only 1 month later the "September" design(#35002.5 with extra options) could have saved the original design.

Due to national security no government representative could be contacted for comment. Don't worry guyz, I'll keep trying. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/blink.gif

My own ten:

10) HE-111 = barbershop quartet. TB-3 = Dixieland band.

9) HE-111 = "Please see that your carry on luggage can fit in this handy cage before boarding." TB-3 = "Only one steamer trunk? Very well, comrade!"

8) TB-3 = Warm socks for nose gunners a must. HE-111 = Clean socks for nose gunners is a must.

7) HE-111 = Asking for fighter escort. TB-3 = Having the ground crew install it before takeoff.

6) TB-3 = Cabbage and bean dinner before the mission is a fine way to fill up with good eating. HE-111 = Cabbage and bean dinner before the mission is a fine way to a court martial.

5) Convertables fetch more at resale.

4) Plus chicks dig 'em.

3) No pilot of an HE-111 was ever tempted to shout "Buck up, me hearties, I'm bringin' 'er hard a-port, prepare a broadside fore and aft!" when attacked by enemy fighters.

2) HE-111 = Smoking on aircraft forbidden. TB-3 = Please use butt can until over enemy territory.

1) You can always find something to write with in a TB-3.

A few more:

You will never be lost while flying a TB-3 because you are never far from where you last knew where you were.

Two words: Uber Pencil

Bigger rims (like 53s or something!)

Being the bombardier feels like living in a courrugated tin shack.

- in He111 only the Pilot can kick *** (the bombardiers) in an argument
TB3, the faster gunner wins

- He111=Porsche 911 - see nothin' but drive fast
TB3 = Cabriolet - cruisin' under open sky and the wind in your hair

Oh, and one question:
How do you recognice a nice TB3-crewman? - He's got flies between his teeth. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/16x16_smiley-wink.gif

Does anyone know if its possible to do a skin where the interior of a TB3 is redecorated? Think the bombadiers station would make a nice lounge room, or some signs on the doors would at least be nice.
