View Full Version : Disguises

I think it would be nice if there was a selection of disguises in AC3. I just don't want to play another mission where u infiltrate a party/an art exhibition or the church of st Peter armed to the teeth and dressed in the most suspicious way possible. It's just too silly. We could have like a wardrobe of different disguises so the player can choose himself. And perhaps side missions to obtain them, by for example assassinate someone, or sneaking into their bedroom at night.

The new disguises could grant you easier access to new areas even outside missions. For example there could be a none evil religious group guarding one of the temples and u don't really want to assassinate them. Or there could be a fort that you could sneak into the back way. But by using a disguiseinstead you could walk in the front door etc.

Now there should obviously be a downside, because the standard outfit should of course be the one u use the most. The obvious one is that u won't be able to carry as much gear. For example the sword/bow/pistols may be taken away, or for some lighter costumes you may only be able to have like a dagger. You may also be noiser/easier to spot, or less agile depending on the disguise.

Yay/Nay?

Yay most definitely. For one it would bring a new dimension to blending and social stealth and it would give us more choice which is always a plus. Yeah I agree there should be a downside to keep it only used tactically. Good idea.

Great idea, I've been wanting this since I was just a young Alta´r blending in a group of monks. You're right aboot how the main one has to be the one you will naturally opt for. Also they could add an 'ultimate outfit' (unlock able by doing Assassin Tomb equivalents) that has a mega ability. Not sure what that could be though, any ideas?

maybe the ultimate outfit can have the ability to remain silent even in high profile (like the master assassin robes in ACR. Not so sure about the Ishak ability to deflect bullets though. Guns should remain a constant 100% threat imo).

Maybe it could also have the ability to "hire" a dog to walk with you and it can make Connor look like he''s just walking his dog and give the opportunity to blend with a dog by himself. He is after all a lover of hounds hehe.

Just a random thought since we already will be able to pet dogs :P

Is that true about those outfits?

I wouldn't mind dogs at all. It makes sense in the wildlife setting too, tracking deers and fetching the birds you shoot. And maybe in combat you could send it to bite the most powerful enemy so you could fight off the rest while he was incapacitated? And like you said dogs are great for blending. Would be awesome if the victim leaned down to pet the dog and you could just stab him in the back .

Thanks! Yeah in most cases it could be optional, providing different ways to approach the missions.

Indeed it is. The master assassin robes keep your high profile actions silent and the Ishak armour has a % to deflect/block bullets. Nexst time you equip them go to the inventory screen and check the description of the armours. :).
edit: also the wiki says as well.. Under the trivia section for the armours.

http://assassinscreed.wikia.com/wiki/Master_Assassin_Armor

"Similar to the Armor of Ishak Pasha (http://assassinscreed.wikia.com/wiki/Armor_of_Ishak_Pasha), this armor also bears a hidden effect: silence when sprinting"

http://assassinscreed.wikia.com/wiki/Armor_of_Ishak_Pasha

This armor bears two unique hidden effects, in which it gives extra resistance to projectile weaponry (http://assassinscreed.wikia.com/wiki/Firearms), and a small chance to deflect projectiles (bullets, crossbow bolts, etc.)

While wearing this armor, guards are more likely to run away due to their belief in it being cursed, much like how guards reacted in Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood (http://assassinscreed.wikia.com/wiki/Assassin%27s_Creed:_Brotherhood) after seeing the brutal kills of the Dagger of Brutus (http://assassinscreed.wikia.com/wiki/Dagger_of_Brutus).

Whether the player is wearing an outfit over this armor or not, does not affect the ability to scare the guards away."

I prefer Connor's naval outfit, it fits the time period better with the tri-corner hat. Ezio and Altair could just about get away with wearing hoods because monks in medieval times wore hoods
It would be good to have the choice to use a disguise when we want, tthat will suit the situation. I like the idea of the Assassin brotherhod wearing army uniforms to get past checkpoints
Connors white outfit does look cool, the jacket part does fit 1700s attire but the hood is too conspicuous in my opinion

I don't know.... Im not too keen on the idea of disguise..
I just want many different outfits, I don't really care whether or not they work as disguise..

Oh right.
I never really knew much about revelations.
It was very secretive.

I thought the Janissary disguise in ACR was a good balance. Your disguise wasn't perfect, so you couldn't stay out in the open for too long, you still had to hide and use blend groups. If your disguise was foolproof it'd make the game too easy.

I'd love to see some disguises in the game. Infiltrating an enemy camp? Wear one of their outfits, so you don't get caught.
It would definitely help me become a little more immersed in the experience and add a little more depth to the stealth mechanics of the game.
