Are there any Italian planes in this game? I know they did not come with the 1st release of IL2 but with the latest expansions and add-ons I was thinking that one such plane had been added to the game by now.

On the base IL-2 FB there are the Macchi MC.202 and the FIAT G.50, both non flyable.
With the Acs Expansion you get the G.50 flyable and the FIAT CR.42 biplane, also flyable, while the MC.202 is still only A.I.

The G.50 and CR.42 are flyable in the sim. The Mc.202 is AI.

The IAR 80 and IAR 81 were not italian designs. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/16x16_smiley-wink.gif

Can't wait to fly the Macchi 202 and 205, both in development... http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/heart.gif

AFAIK Macchi C.202 and C.205, Fiat G.55 and Reggiane Re.2000 MIGHT be included in a future patch to be released AFTER Pacific Fighters.

Other Italian types are also being realised but they will almost surely be AI only.

I currently play a career mode with Fiat G. 50. That's after i pissed off playing carrer with a J8A. That plane never catch anything but look at the bright side the pilot won't catch a cold flying it.

Me:"Do you see that pilot flying the Spitfire in the photo above?" [Brief pause] "That's not me"
Girl of my dream: "So you're the one taking the picture?" [Hopeful and interested]
Me:"Nooo, i'm the one who lent the camera" -God bless you all!

There were enough persistent rumours at one stage to suggest that Oleg was seriously considering a Mediterraean expansion including Malta, Italy and North Africa.

However the 3rd party developers showed much more interest in the Pacific and BoB and the Med sim idea seems to have been shelved for the time being.

Oleg has said that the Med sim is being positioned as the first official expansion to the upcoming BoB sim.

Yeah, that seems to make sense from a chronological point of view.

Then I guess there would be a Barbarossa expansion, a Pacific War Expansion and then a European Air War Expansion for the 43-45 period on the Western Front, which such keep us in sims till the end of the decade, by which time we'll all be full-real in VR helmets and all our wives will have left us.

We'll have MED probably in 2007.....

Waiting for it, what we need NOW is a Sicily-Malta map.
