I see this switch in my sound options and don;t really know what it does.

It turns on some sonic stuff that your sound drivers support. Stereo widening, 3d sound enhancement, bass-boom, reverb, etc.

Test it out by all means, but you'll probably want to keep it off. The default sound is bad enough, but the enhanced sound is usually terrible; it may sound as though you are flying in circles deep inside a toilet bowl.

meant to improve 3d sound effects but even more buggy than the standard IL2 sound


as a matter of interest, some of the sound bugs can be fixed by going into sound setup and hitting apply without making any changes at the start of each mission - makes no sense but it works, go figure http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif
