View Full Version : Can't get transparency

No matter what I try I cannot get my signatures to show transparency. My current signature is in PNG format and I used the URL method to make it my signature (I didn't upload it straight from my computer, I uploaded it to Flickr first) and, as you can see, it still has a black background.

Er, are you sure you removed the background before saving the file? Maybe flickr doesn't support transparency? (although I think it does)

simply change the color and doit all over again...or stick with black

I saved it with transparency

transparency is different to not having a background at all.
Just delete the whole background layer so flickr can't mistake it for a background layer without transparency.

Most (if not all) Image Manipulation software will show transparency like this:

Rather than a white or black background. Delete the white/black background on your image program and when you get that, you know it'll work.

Hi JumpInTheFire
The image you posted as a example... is a JPG, which does not carry transparency information... let me guess you uploaded a png to flickr and all of a sudden its a jpg...
Flickr did some woo shoo kung fu on your image my friend. (web servers love optimizing stuff, flickr is no different) http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?k3kjey3qdjauqwphttp://www.mediafire.com/download.php?k3kjey3qdjauqwphttp://www.mediafire.com/download.php?k3kjey3qdjauqwp

To get around this ... make it the color of the forum background... (which is #171717 by the way... like this one...)
Its quite daft that the ckeditor doesn't allow you to upload files from your computer... but there is always a way around it :)
