I can see some worried faces coming from the B-17 pilots in the corner http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

Great site, thanks.

50mm cannon in a 410? I want that more than the Go 229!

Here is a picture of my collection http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif The 8mm Mauser is that used on the early Bf 109 MG's The 7.62mm x 39 is an AK 47 round. Ok Ok the first two are only used on FB aircraft but I thought I would post them anyway. For scale these need to be viewed at 1280 by 960 resolution.

Is there a flyable or otherwise Me 410 in the works?

Interesting site. I vaguely remember hearing something about the 50mm cannon aircraft installation project. I'm sure one shot would have brought down a B-17, but I doubt it would have been very affective overall. The recoil must have been tremendous, and trying to hit a plane with only a few rounds of ammo would have been difficult unless your very close to your target. I also enjoyed your other website. That's a pretty big shack you live in http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_eek.gif Strange, you don't look 35 http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

Commenting on the BK-5, one German pilot said that Allied a/c hit by it "burst like a balloon" http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_eek.gif

To be expected. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_razz.gif But one had to hit an enemy a/c first.http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

There is no way the BK5 weighed 135 lbs, since the BK3.7 weighed 600lb. Nothing like flying around with a 500kg equivelant bomb attached, full time.

The Me262 so fitted(MK214 50mm) (W.Nr. 111899) flew 2 missions and on both missions the gun jammed.

In the game there is the Hungarian Me.210 with the 40mm. gun fitted, which was built according to the same principle, but if I remember correctly all attempts to make a flyable Me.210/410 were stopped: apparently the gunner's position with the remote-controlled 13mm. barbettes was too complex to model, or something along these lines. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_confused.gif
