Strange one, have read loads of threads and not come accross this minor error.

UZO, Binocs and Combat scope all work fine, however no matter how many times I raise or lower the Observation scope and pan it up and down I get a pitch black view. In career mode (VIIB), but get the same on single missions in any boats and trainer.

Same at any time of the day or night and any angle. Any bright (pardon the apalling pun) ideas are welcome.

are you sure that the tilt of the scope isnt pointing up or down? Besides raising the scope all the way, make sure that it isnt pointed into the sky with your mouse.

You have to surface to remove the protection manually. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

Ay I have tested elevating and lowering the view, it behaves the same way, pitch black as if the scope was down. A tad frustrating I must admit.

Have had this issue with the game unpatched, 1.1 and 1.2, I am guessing it may be Nvidia vid card related, but I have no intention of changing the card at the moment.

It has always been like that? I was going to say that maybe it was due to dmamge to the scop from a collison or something like that. Maybe you can back up your save game and re-install. Might work.

Happens in training, single missions and career mode, even tried a couple of test careers with the same results http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_frown.gif

Yeah...for a long time I was accidentally raising the combat periscope instead of the observation one.

Delete and Insert are for the obs one, not page up page down.

I'm with the last two posters. Hit "ctrl Insert" and then try to look through the scope. Maybe we are wrong, but I have a inkling that you are raising the attack scope and looking through the observation scope...

If that is the case, you might also want to check the logbook to see if the Chief Engineer has recently put in for a transfer... http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/88.gif

Dont mean to point out the obvious but you do know it's not the same key to raise and lower the attack scope right? It's Insert & Delete.

YOu knew that right? Good... Just checking

I just use the switch that they actually put ON the periscope to raise and lower it...that solves everything! http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/34.gif http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/cry.gif
