View Full Version : Muliplayer Game Lengh

Despite its game faults the multiplayer on sh2 was probably its best feature. What do we all feel about the lengh time a multiplayer game should last?

I ask this question cos I just got a sudden fear that UBI might go for a more arcade style multiplayer rather than the great 2hr stat games that allow you to make a brew whilst sailing etc.

It would be nice to have a choice but I personally prefer the longer more stable game that allows players to get a decent chat in whilst playing.

Whilst on this subject I hope that some of the sub sim and wolfpack communities great modders are preparing for the stat games that could be included in this game with help from a suitable editor. Without these guys I would have got bored of sh2 a long time ago. Big thanks from me.

Like the rest of you I have great hopes that this game will include a DD version at a later date thus I am trying to get as many people into considering purchasing it when released.

I was never really into sh1 aotd etc but sh2 took my interest.

Thoughts please

Maybe the dev team will read this and add a little extra scoring system for the hardcore multiplayer fans.


Apart from tonnage what other stats could be realistically included so that others get a chance to reach a leaderboard. I would like to see somthing like the following.

Crews favorite capatain = Moral level.

Best sailor = transit speeds to destination.

Best suvivor = evades the most attacks.

Longest torp shot that hit.

Lets not forget the cowards, fastest killed, monster capatains = crew morale etc most damage to ship whether or not by enemy.

These few touches make a game worth its salt to me.

I am sure you guys will think of plenty more or be able to explain how difficult it would be to implement a scoring system on multiplayer.

Just had to also ask what fan sites and flotillas have already been developed for this game so I can register and gget to know my future competitors who share the same goal to be uno supremo.

I hope that the multiplayer games can be up to 2 or 3 real time days long. It would be fun to occasionally get together on line for a battle of the atlantic recreation weekend.

Subs might be 100's of miles from convoy, and it would be played out in real time.

This would be for the hardest of the hardcore.

Anyway, I'll keep playing for a few hours. Have too much work, cannot borrow so much time for playing.

I would guess that the lenght of the battles can be pretty much defined by the scenario designer.

You and a couple of friends have a whole afternoon to waste? Create a large scenario, with the various boats at quite some distance from a convoy. You can then fully coordinate your efforts and share your spotting reports until the carefully orchestrated attack begins.

Want some quick and dirty knife-fight? Create a scenario where your wolfpack has just ran into an allied task force in bad weather and give 'em hell.

Or man the flak guns during a surface breakthrough with a group of subs through the bay of Biscaya with a Flak U-Boat as escort.
