Here recently I've been busy with another hobby/pastime of mine, and was wondering what everyone else does outside of trying to starve out the Brits.
http://i75.photobucket.com/albums/i316/corporal342/DSC00130.jpg

This is the number 1 thing I enjoy doing. Milsurp match shooting.

http://i75.photobucket.com/albums/i316/corporal342/P3220026.jpg

This is the other big time consumer. Prescribed burning.

What do you guys do?

Still learning about how to post pictures is also another hobby!

Heres another go.
First, I target shoot with Milsurp rifles.
http://i75.photobucket.com/albums/i316/corporal342/DSC00130.jpg

And I also do prescribed burning.

Starving brits, Guns and burning eh??

Men RULE!!!

I like sailing, i have a 420 dinghy called "legless". I didnt name it, but i think the names great. I love fishing too.

heres a pic of me with the biggest fish i ever caught. Not huge, but i dont get to fish that often. I once caught 5 mackerel on the one line and that was pretty impressive.

I also like most outdoor sports.

I always wanted to go scuba diving. I finally went in malaga last summer. Dragged a very unenthusiastic girlfriend along with me.

Couldnt sort my ears out, thank god i wasnt down deep. I just couldnt get them to equalize, pinch my nose and blow all that i cud. They were killing me when i got out, i was gutted.

Il try again some time.

My top 2 things id love to try.

Skydiving and Hanggliding.

I like to moutain bike and I've done some competitive endurance racing.

It's cool...you camp out and you pass a small baton between five racers for 24 hours. California was the place to do all this, unfortunately I live in the east where the humidity and cold prevent riding comfortably all year around.

I own an earlier version of this bike made for Cross Country racing:

R/Cing, Build models whenever I can, and biking (once I get a new one).

My recent new R/C Car which survived many crazy stuff(Video below, better shown that way):

Sure is fun since I get couple people looking at it as if it was a U-Boat on land. You never know it could be in disguise http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif

Oh and my U-Boat model. Right now my U-Boat is protecting my R/C Car from theft lol:

I build monster analogue synthesizers by hand soldering components to circuit boards.

Nothing is more satisfying (other than sex) than writing a tune yourself, out of sounds you chiselled yourself from an instrument you built yourself. Haven't tried combining both yet.

Guess you have to like electronic music to appreciate.

I should get out more, mmm, outside.

Before I get Rickets.

This is my rifle.

It's an M1A from the early 90's during the ban. But, it has all USGI parts except for the receiver and flash suppressor. It's as close to a M14 as I will probably ever get.

The cool thing about having a rifle that close?

Nope. No problems here. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-indifferent.gif Fits perfect and locks in easily. Did you tried oil ?

Im proud to say that i attached the bayonette holder myself.

The weapon was in an overall bad condition ( i will search for some pics) and had no bayonett lock at all. I believe that the wooden part is from 1944 or 45, the locks were left out at this time. While the other metal parts are from 1939.

So i buyed one and attached it myself with use of original blueprints and my own cute little hands. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif

I didnt expect the bayonett to fit so perfectly after i was finished. Somehow it looks like i have more talent than i thought. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

What does your bayonett look like ? If you post some pics (especially from the markings and number on it ) i could find out for you where and when it was produced. Maybe its origin is the problem.

I once had a pic of an turkish G98 from ww-1. You could see the half-moon and 1916 markings on its barrel. Sadly i cant find it anymore. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/1072.gif

Five in a magazine, one in a chamber plus those four in bandolier.

It is difficult to explain to somebody who doesn,t play chess but imagine yourself that Alexandra is sub commander If she wants to fire salvo of 4 torpedoes she doesn't need to use Torpedoe Data Computer or assistance of weapon officer , she can plot everything in her mind (bearing, AOB,speed,) http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gifhttp://i51.photobucket.com/albums/f364/Janek73/img_3860.jpg http://i51.photobucket.com/albums/f364/Janek73/img_3281.jpg http://i51.photobucket.com/albums/f364/Janek73/img_2142.jpg http://i51.photobucket.com/albums/f364/Janek73/1578kosteniuk.jpg http://i51.photobucket.com/albums/f364/Janek73/p8142618.jpg http://i51.photobucket.com/albums/f364/Janek73/p7202171.jpg http://i51.photobucket.com/albums/f364/Janek73/p8142621.jpg http://i51.photobucket.com/albums/f364/Janek73/kosteniuk13.jpg

Hey Celeon, what her rank? I'm guessing Captain...and by her unit shield or emblem, I'm guessing she's communications? (I forget what communication units are called in the Bundeswehr, the O's old girlfriend had a partnership unit that was a Bundeswehr commo battalion)

Fernmeldetruppe. Communications , right. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

She´s an simple private.

An Gefreiter but they are called Funker not Gefreiter within the commie ... http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif ehhhhm communication troops.

We call them Funkenpuster or Strippenzieher anyway http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif

It looses much in the translation... http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/10.gif http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

An Strippenzieher is something like ....."cable puller" or something. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/88.gif

But in his civil life Celeon is an cable puller himself http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/1072.gif http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/touche.gif

You guessed an officer because of the yellow stripes on her shoulder markings right ?

The Fernmelde guys and girls all have yellow just like officers.

But it has to be a broader yellow stripe surrounded by an thin green stripe to be an Unteroffizier which would equal an captain i believe http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

From the 912 on the shield its possible she could belong to the newly formed Eloka battalions . They are seperate from the Fermeldetruppe although they are doing nearly the same.

hmmm...I recognize Mary McDonnell on the right...in her hey day she was a unique woman. Still an eye turner. I last saw her in the movie "Donnie Darko"

"Donnie Darko" was quite a cult film here in the USA. If you haven't seen it yet CELEON (and others in Europe, but I know it was big in the UK), you should...it's a mix of SCI-FI, time travel, spooky, comedy and spiritualism. It has a great soundtrack to top it off (based in the 80s).

The_Silent_O has both the Original and Director's Cut:

Donnie Darko (2001) (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0246578/)

It looks like there's a German dubbed version...but I wonder how a soul tortured American Teenager translates to Modern Germany...watch it when you have a chance.

Celeon

You wouldn`t happen to have an mp3 of the former East German National Anthem. (Auferstanden aus Ruinen)

The only version I can get is choire version, while I would really like to have the instrumental one.

Not too impressed with the mackeral,me and the brother in law used to go fishing of the rocks with just spinners and we used come home and the end of the doy with over a hundred mackeral, breaking mackeral are just eating machines so catch 5 when your out in a boat with feathers isnt that impressive.

Well impressed with the pike though, theyre meant to be a nasty enough fish,if your going out in a boat you should go looking for conger eel.

Grilling in Germany??...when I lived there it was the rare German who actually grilled.

But yes, beer is important since it gets SO HOT over the grill...need the carbs and water in beer to continue grilling.

I was actually looking for any old threads/info regarding IuB, n came across this gem.

My hobbies are dancing with all the girls, umpiring footy, n watching family guy. most enjoyable.

this was a good thread...I'd like to add that in addition to Mountain Biking...I also like to catch Poison Ivy and get eaten by giant flying insects....You can do all at the same time!

Is being lazy a hobby? I hope so, according to Mrs Hueywolf I am very skilled in this.
My other hobbies are surfing, painting landscapes (watercolour), drinking to excess, being hungover, SHIII, and watching movies. Most of these can be done at the same time, but surfing and SHIII may not mix.

Is watching women a hobby??? I mean sometimes you can't avoid it...they just walk right in front of you and you HAVE to watch them, or else you might bump into them, so is it a hobby or a necessity???

Watching women turns from a hobby into sport when the wifes about. Timing is key and dark glasses, then you can time how long a look you can get without the nudge and scowl.

http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif Yeah, when you reach a certain age it becomes humorous. When my wife catches me oogling she nails me in the ribs with an elbow and says: "Ah-HA! Pretty good set on THAT one, eh?"
