Yes, two Ar 196's on special detachment were helping to screen the harbor at Penang, Malaysia. They even had Japanese markings. And, some of them with overall blue paint were used by commerce raiders in the Indian ocean.

The Japanese did have test versions of 109 E and 190 A, which helped them develop the Hien, and the Judy, and Goshikisen.

That 109F never show up in PTO, but a Bf109E-3
which was deliverd to Japan. Further I got pics of a Fw190a-3, Ju-87B and others bearing Japanese markings.

Some other German a/c were tested by the Japanese but never put into service.
