View Full Version : Firefox with http://www.pacific-fighters.com/-page: my CPU usage goes to 100%... :-(

To the Ubi-web designer:

As an ever-growing number of people, I use the Firefox browser.

When I use the new web page of Pacific Fighters I have a big problem though: my CPU usage goes to 100% and stays there as long as the web page is open.

I don't know if it is the Bf-109 animation on top or the menu system on the left, but there definitely is a problem.

I can also see it because the menus work very slowly for me. When I click an item, I have to move the cursor subsequently to be able to access the item.

This is the page I'm referring to:

I hope you can re-design the page...

Frey, use the little drop down menu on the right to switch to the Pacific Fighters skin. It's still CPU intensive but a lot less so.

As for me, I've bookmarked the forums and don't even go to the main page more often than once a week http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif.

thx for the reply tully!

BTW, you should use your (presumed) connections with Ubi to tell them that the page as it is, is just not acceptable. I can imagine that it will freeze a lot of computers and generally turn people off. The problem is worse than any positive effects which those flashy graphics might (?) give.

I'd say Extreme_One is your man for that sort of comments, or contact them directly using the "Contact Us" link at the bottom of the forum.

I'm running Firefox, have the plug-in, zippy little '109 and all, and my usage is never higher than about 18%, so no problems here. Perhaps you're experiencing other issues. Sadly, I'm not the one to ask. Maybe someone in Community Support, or whatever it's called these days, can help.

Yeah, it's not much to do with the page I'm afraid. There's something else going on with your browser/system.

Install the Adblock (https://update.mozilla.org/extensions/moreinfo.php?id=10) extension and block the banner animation.

The banner adress is:
