It's great that someone has added a Hawaii map to Pacific fighters but is there any way the topography could be made a bit more accurate in a later patch? For example the entire Diamond Head volcano is missing from the south end of the island. In addition also missing is Waikiki, hanauma bay, and koko head. Leaving out an entire volcano that even had military emplacements on it seems like a significant oversight to me. Here is a link to a topographical map of Diamond Head. http://www.backyardoahu.com/index.html?diam4.shtml

Yeah, its certainly missing some important features, Diamond Head most of all. I would not hold my breath for it to be fixed, though

It is nice that it is included. rather have had the slot or somewhere in CBI. I live in Hawaii. Yes, better description would be, It's missing everything but its coast outline. The rivers are completely goof. If you want to see a pretty good Hawaii get MSFS2002 -2004 with the addon airports.

I was stationed at barbers point NAS from 1960 to 1964 and when i fly on map in game i get lost because the rivers wrong and some valleys where they should not be and carols house who i dated while there is not up on the mouintain toward upside down falls and all those pineapple fields that seem to go on forever ant there.it would be nice to see AAA and the big guns that were buried deep in side of diamond head go off when you fly over in a zero.On dec 7 1941 my uncle LT.Belton Spualding was hit in head by scrapnel from a plane that dove into hanger at pearl and died from same wouned 25 years later still a vegatable and could not move.Still nice memerys flying over and trying to figger out where the heck is hickman and is that beer can i threw of pala clift still floating up there?? and i cant find soldiers beach we did lots of surfing and laid under parchutes from base and drank till we were silly. And all this time there the top speed on iland was 35 miles an hour he he.And now look at all those skyscrapers at the beach WOW.I would even bet my old 1954 chey is still running and being sold to new boots coming in to the bases.OK i am going to get off here http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif

This is the first time I made a post where everyone seemed to agree with me. I too found myself lost when flying over the coastline in the Oahu map because I was expecting to use Diamond Head as a reference point. Your right "Blackdog5555" the topography in Microsoft's flight sim 2004 does blow away that of Pacific Fighters but without a way to do combat in the air the game never grabbed me much except as a way to learn more about flight and navigation. It's too bad we can't have a game that's more like a cross between MS flight sim 2004 and "Pacific Fighters". Another obvious solution would be to let the people who play "Pacific fighters" create their own scenery for the game. I guess if we had gotten a Rabaul map in a patch it stands to reason that it too would have had no volcano.

I'm agreeing, was stationed at Wheeler('78-'79) and the views from the Huey were different. And no Kole Kole pass.

I agree, definately need a SDK so we can build our own maps. or at least someone with talent, lol. I canonly fly Ms2004 for about 30 min. till i want to blow something up. But MS did a great job on Honolulu.

As bad as it seems for us, Eastern Front has it the worst. Moscow is not even on the "Moscow" map. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif And Moscow City saw extensive air combat overhead. I heard Oleg carefully side~stepped Moscow City to avoid Russians Whining about their houses not being mapped (and we think we are bad). Although I originally thought--partially but not entirely in jest--that the Russian Government did not allow Oleg to map Moscow City because of old style Cold War missile targeting deceptions used on maps releaced by the Soviet Union.
