A couple weeks ago I posted a message and in it questioned as to if any more Italian planes where to be added to this game. I had a few replies stating that new Italian planes would be comming in a few weeks...so where are they? I had not seen or read ANYTHING about them.

Anyone have more information. Getting tired as a new player taking my G50 against late war planes all the time. Yes, I only fly the FiatG50...for now.

THX

It was stated several times in the ORR.
After the release of PF, a lot of planes, which are finished already, will be included.

Did they specifically say "two weeks"? Thats a joke around here http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Everything will be released in "two weeks"...Pacific Fighters, Battle of Britain, the next patch...its a joke. Don't take it seriously http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

No, they were serious.
They did send the modells to Oleg some weeks/months ago. He told them, that these planes will come along with a patch after the release of PF.
Falkster and Jippo, who made the Ju88, said the same.

Finally the Italian planes, the Ju88 and the upcoming Do335 (nearly finished*) are the reasons why I will buy PF, because the next patches will be for the merged PF and Il2/FB AEP only, as far as I know.

I probably shouldn't be asking this here, and it's slightly off topic. I'd just rather not flip through hundreds of FAQs...

Will Pacific Fighters use the same basic engine? Il2 runs perfectly on my comp, just curious if part 2 will as well.

Thank you

Yes. FP uses same basic engine as FB.

Italian planes should be...

Re.2001 and maybe 2001/2005
Macchi~2000, 2002, and 2005
Fiat G.55
SM.79 cockpit was started. That would be so nice...
quote:

Not even sure if I got these Italian numbers correct. But I will have to learn and learn much. Always been an Easter Front addict so I always knew about the Easter Front planes (only reason I bothered to buy a Windows flight sim actually), but I know as little of Italian planes as most USA simmers knew of Russian planes before the FB. Here we see how flight simming acts as a tool of education. There is a good reason they included BI~1 over the FB. mmm, Leapdsitter is right, they should include that first Italian jet...the one the G.50 could out~run. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif I never knew about that.

I think the Soviets had some motor jets also, but the were all composite-powered planes, not "pure" jets.

It sure would be fun to try planes like that over the FB.

Fun yes, but the problem I have with that one is it has no use in a non pure research situation, unlike BI~1 or Bf~109Z. For BnZ I would have to take the G.50 over the jet. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif Forgot what its called now. But it was purely experimental research aircraft. Like the X~1 while the BI~1 was designed with at least some intention of using it in combat I think. Same with 109Z.

Good point, LEXX.

Still, instead of flying escort, we could use the motor-jet to fly decoy!

Those Soviet composite powered planes were mostly adaptations of existing fighters, however.

Actually one of the flying prototypes was lost due to hostile fire. Unfortunatly it wasn't airborne at the time.

Also there is a compleated A-36 Apache model that has been turned in. Has the same cockpit as the p-51B. So we should look for this one too. if not a flyable then as AI.

Here you go with Caproni Campini 1.
I don't think it's been modelled, this is the first time I hear that.

but yes, it was outrun by G.50 http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_frown.gif

Its not being modded. Leadspitter brought up the idea though. Interesting.

Be patient, a lot of italian birds are coming and they are really amazing. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

MC 202, 205 and G55 are ready, all the others are WIP. If we'll have different versions for each model, we'll have really a lot of italian fighters.

We have time....

but, over what landscape/map "we" should fly the MC.205 , G.55 ?

MC.200 and MC202 flew in Russia and can be used over this "sand Map" . but this later italian stallions ?!?!?
dodnt get me wrong, i love these designs and their performance , but im mostly a historocal COOP mission player

Very good question.....i agree, and i have not news about italian maps.... Ian talked about the possibility to have the Sicily map, but soon after said that he had to change option.

But, believe me, the Balaton map would be great also for the North East of Italy...at least for the our own coop mission.

Is quite strange, probably we'll have really a lot of italian birds, but not only one italian map.

Settle down boys, there is only ONE ultimate "jet"..... a wonderful creation consisting of a Cr@applaneā"ž¢ and "modern technology".

I present for you:

Polikarpov I-153PVRD ramjethttp://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

http://www.aviapress.com/book/oth/oth072/oth072_3.jpg

"In the summer 1939 an engineer I.Merkulov offered the use of ramjet (PVRD) as the additional power installation for increase of maximum speed of fighters with piston engines. The air petrol from a main tank was poroposecl to be used as fuel. The first engine, that received a designation DM-1, passed bench tests in the second half of 1939. In September more powerful engines DM-2 were made, their length was 1500 mm, maximum diameter 400 mm, diameter of the output nozzle 300 mm. The weight of each engine together with fastening was only 62 Ib. In September 1940 DM-2 were mounted on 1-153 fighter resulting in a gain of speed of 18.6 mph [EDIT WOOWWWWWWWW http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_cool.gif http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-happy.gif]. In October same year DM-4 engines were tested on Tchaika. At turning on of DM-4 the speed of a plane was increased by 25-31 mph. In total 74 test flights were completed using DM-2 and DM-4 engines."

Now THIS should have been modelled rather than the B-1 http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/icon_twisted.gif
