Hey guys,

RUB 1.43 is great! It has me back in the game since I got a little bored with it a month ago. I just started a '42 campaign and man are things different than I was used to! Before RUB targets were everywhere. I know this was unrealistic but it was fun! http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/784.gif

Now with the more realistic RUB mod I cannot find anything. I have been travelling the convoy routes submerged during the day at slow speed. My sonar man is sweeping just fine but he never finds anything. I even go to a dead stop sometimes and listen myself but still nothing! http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_mad.gif

Has everyone packed up an gone home. The Atlantic is empty! What is the trick to finding targets with this mod?

Thanks,
Col. Tibbetts

I think the game is reflecting the increasing ability of the Allies to detect U-boat concentrations and divert their convoys away from known U-boat positions. They acquired this information from detecting the U-boats' radio transmissions.

While the early years of the war saw a lot of convoys detected and attacked, giving the impression that there was mass carnage in the Atlantic, the truth was that more convoys got through unmolested than were attacked. The figure of uncontested convoys for the whole war is 98%. In other words, for the whole period of the war, only 2% of convoys were attacked. The vast majority of these uncontested convoy passages would have been in the period 43-45, the build up to D-Day and the ongoing supply of the fighting forces in the Med and Europe.

How long have you been on patrol? You can't just wait 3-4 days....I go on patrol for at least a "month" and never have any problems picking up at least 2-3 convoys...at least getting contact reports. Not always in the good place to intercept. If it bugs you go back to the stock game...play as you like it. It is more realistic this way though.
