I have an Audigy2 now.

What are the real practical differences between the Audigy2 ..the Audigy2 Z....and Audigy2 Z Platinum?

Can I expect any real improvement in sound quality for FB/AEP/PF if I upgrade from Audigy2?

Cost is not a consideration...I'm just wondering if it would be even worth the effort to order in an upgrade and install it? I only use sounds for gaming and only use headphones....gave the 5.1 speakers to the kids.

Opinions appreciated.

If cost isn't a consideration you could be the 1st kid on the block with a new Audigy 4 and tell us what you think after some in game testing. Listed at $299.00 at Creative's homepage.

I thought the audigy 2ZS cards were the same... with the plat pro you got a breakout box (front panel)

Dunno about the LS LE or whatever...

Audigy 4 is bugger all different to the 2.... maybe slightly higher output and a few other tweaks from what I have read but nothing so significant that all but the most hardened music fans with the most Expensive speakers and the most sesitive of ears, not to mention the biggest wallets (i.e. NOT me! http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-tongue.gif) would notice http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif

Well...that didn't take long:

quote:
In essence this card is the same as the Audigy 2 ZS, except that the software bundle. The software itself and the drivers are refreshed. Oh yeah and it has 2 new Digital Audio Converters (or DAC€s).

So what does this Audigy card have to offer over then previous version?

The new DAC€s offer a better signal to noise ratio and this card has a nice breakout box bundled with it. Couple that to the refreshed software and drivers and you have something new.

But is it enough?
