Hello Friends.

I am curious about the exploits of the Luftwaffe
Fsch.Jg.Rgt. 3. Does anyone maybe know of a website that has unit histories on it? My grandfather served with this unit and other than rescuin Mussolini, I'm curious what the story of this unit is.

Thank you.

You may want to post this on the SH3 side as well. Most people use both forums, but some don't.

i suppose the abbrevation means Fallshirmjäger Regiment 3, in case you did not yet figure that out http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_razz.gif

I looked them up for a bit and found some information resources, they all appear to be telling roughly the same, so I suppose the info is correct;

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/3...vision_%28Germany%29 (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/3rd_Parachute_Division_%28Germany%29)

http://www.ww2.dk/ground/fallschirm/fjr3.htm

http://www.feldgrau.com/3FJD.htm

I actualy learned the unit operated around Maastricht and Aachen, not to far from where I currently live http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

Thanks a lot. That would coincide with what little I've been able to find out. He did have Leningrad shrapnel in his head until he passed away. It's really a shame that he was estranged from the family, I would like to have heard his war stories.
