Did it last night in my campaign for the first time, Lock Ewe (spelling?).

It was a nice break form the usual patrol routine, and

****SPOLIER ALERT*****

I sank a Fiji Light cruiser, docked there, for 10,000+ tons. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

I also liked the shore batteries in the bay area. I was like "Oh no!", when I saw them all lined up. I sure didn't want them to spot my scope, cause I'm sure they would have rocked my world if they started shooting at me! http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

Anyway, I hope we get some more Port suprises in some upcomming official patches. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/25.gif

Loch, not Lock (they hopefully teach you this at school if you've ever read English http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif).

Well done!
What date was it?

Pop up near the headland going into Firth of Forth, see how you like that spot. My cat trod on my desk and I thought it had pressed "crash Dive", into shallow bottom, replayed, it wasn't the cat!

I also found that Fiji class in Loch Ewe. I snuck in and found nothing at any of the docks and was dissapointed but when I took a look around I saw it anchored on the west shore. When I fired two torpedoes it started to move and show smoke. Steam vessels can not instantly start up so that was not right but I still got her as well. That has been the only warship larger than a destroyer I have seen..
I have tried to sneak up the Thames Estuary and Firth of Forth but died on the first and was lucky not to on the second.

I use the external camera for my 21st century recon missions http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif and I noticed that sometimes these stationary ships have their engines on idle as they sit there. Still, they should be belching a little smoke atleast so that it is apparent that they have their engines warmed up and ready to go.

Just as a note, I always wait for the evening to start my attacks in port, mostly because the tide is modelled in the game, (noticed this by accident one day) so that my magnetic torps have a little clearance between the keel & the mud, and the second reason is to use darkness to aid me in my escape. - Sometimes in the day and shallow water, I swear the patrol craft can see me - no matter I am submerged, silent and stopped! http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_confused.gif

Umh... so for you day = low tide, night = high tide?

I dont think the tides are modelled. What hard evidence do you have of this? Has anyone else noticed this?

I also hope to get more port surprises in the next patch. Such as mines, lots of them, nets, lots of them. Patrolling escorts, lots of them. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

I snuck into Liverpool in really bad weather, nothing there though. On the way out the weather cleared and I had a devil of a job reaching open sea again, being attacked along the way by 4 dd's and a dozen Sunderlands.

When I was finally clear, I assembled a full repair team to fix inside the boat, then spotted 2 merchants sailing together so I surfaced and chased them. Put the repair team onto fixing the outside and once withing range, opened fire on the merchants. Suddenly got jumped by a Sunderland from behind which scored a direct hit topside, killing the watch, gun crews and repair team. 14 dead, that's the most I've lost without losing the boat.

Jeez, I love this game!! http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Seeing as there are virtually NO ships in any ports in this game... the title of this thread is somewhat laughable!
