Im trying to add this to "another" flight sim sound file. It gives a great sense of urgency.I hope these type of sounds are included in the sim!

Does anyone have a link that you can save a "General Quarters Alarm" Soundfile like this, otherwise Ill just record it off the speaker, but the soundquality would suffer.

FOund it! That is if you're referring to US variety anyway. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif Can be found at the following address:

http://www.grsites.com/sounds/nautical002.shtml

The file is .WAV format. It sounds fairly decent too. Hope this helps.

a long time ago (last december)i suggested the same thing on the ubi il2 forum before PF was anounced.these sounds where present in PACIFIC STRIKE by ORIGIN in 1995 and it really brought atmosphere into the game before you took off after the briefing followed by a suttle background music.I also suggested a briefing room scenario before each mission where you also chose the pilots to acompany you on the cap. It's a great idea, it cost nothing to implement and it gives a great sense of realism to the game .the same(idea) should be applied to BOB.

it was obvious it was for cfs2."extreme-one" was able to give us Brittish accent, background music and historic speeches in his BOB add on ,i know nothing about programming but if you can add it to cfs2 i'm sure you can help us out and fit it into PF but anyway lets wait till the game is out then the inspiration will come .
I tried downloading it as well but i think they want you to buy it.i'm going to try and contact extreme-one at NETWINGS and see what he says.

It would be nice to have that General Quarters sound file in PF in place of the airfield siren. It doesn't seem too difficult to me to have a different file for Allied and Axis. Come to think of it, you'd almost have to have four files - one for the airfield siren (both sides) and three different General Quarters files for RN, USN, and IJN. It would really add to the immersion though, wouldn't it? http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

Thunderboy and aminx. Have downloaded the file. If you give me a place to send viq PT, can get it to you two no sweat. Again, it's WAV format... I have no difficulty running it.

I'm pretty sure the airfield siren is encrypted just like all the other object sounds, in this sim. So you won't be able to change them unless Oleg or Luther opens it up to us.

I wan't ignoring you aminx I've only just picked up my e:mails.

Anyway what T_O_A_D said is true - we can't add that kind of sound effect - it's down to the developers.

Fingers crossed! http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

Thanks Sakai! I would like to see a little sound program that would include some echo in it so you can record radio cockpit voices, and loudspeaker alerts, "Abandon ship, all hands abandon ship!"whoop whoop whoop etc...
