Dear folks!

I'm almost recovered. Really after such hard car accidents I need to be more at home after some short hospital recovering, but I'm back to work. However I take vacation for one week beginning on the next monday. I really need it.

Patch news.

It is close to be finished. I dislike the idea to release it next week without me, even when beta testers report me that its already Ok (or almost perfect). I would like to check myself all things right after I will be back and then to release immediatly If all is Ok.

So I think, we will release it in the first week of June.

I'm sorry that all things was going not so good last month, but its a life... Everything may happens in our life...

Thanks for the great support to everyone. I love you all!

Its wonderful to have you back Oleg.

Take your time, heal up properly and fingers crossed that nothing like the last month happens again.

Take your time with the patch though, we are all mature, patient people here.

Good to hear about a firming up of the date. Should set some things straight.

Oleg,

I'm glad to hear you've almost recovered, and I thank you for the patch news too. We're surely all happy to hear you're OK!

As for the patch: IMHO there's definitely no need to hurry anything. It's much MUCH more important to have a _clue_ of the situation, and that's exactly what we have now because of this post of yours http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

So thanks once more & have a nice vacation!

Hello Oleg!

I´m very glad to read you again, sometimes we have to prove difficult moments, but the life bring us good things everyday, just like the pleasure to know that you pass through this accident with only financial losses and its here again. Welcome back! http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

About the next add-on, I´m really not happy to have to wait until early june, since we are here wainting with very scarce information for months, and everytime you post, there comes things like, "not that far", "very soon", etc., BUT I really love your work, and if we are all here showing our devotion and happiness with your return, this is a real indication that YOU KNOW how to do it, so I can understand.

God bless you.

The Board of Directors has decided that you will be completely covered in bubble wrap and placed in a sealed germ-free environment for a minimum of 6 months. This is required so your loyal subjects can sleep at night and not lay awake wondering what evil might befall you next.

Great you are recovering well, take it easy!. Oh and June will be perfect, I have surgery in the 31st of May, a new anterior cruciate ligament in my left knee, will be flying a new FM with a new knee, I love challenges.

If I got it right rudder management is even more important in new FM and with me having rudderpedals it will be interesting how the knee will work. I am supposed to be still the first couple of days but I think that some physiotherapy with simflying will be good for me. If it hurts I just have to imagine getting injured.. Oh what I do for the immersion in this gamehttp://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Oleg,
As you may or may not know, I teach music. Specifically guitar, at a small university. I always tell my students that their hands are more important than the music that they work at playing . . . Its the hardest thing to tell them: "Put the work down for awhile . . . ", but the health of their body, in ther case their hands, is way more important than whatever piece of musical art they are struggling with.

Nothing is more important than your health, or the well being of your young family. Good to see you, and there's a lot of love here for you too.

My wife also sends her love to the man who keeps her husband home instead of out doing who knows what http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

Good to hear that you are better Mr. Maddox.

Take your time with the patch. I prefer to call it "extension" really, because it has nothing in common with what a "patch" usually is in the gaming world. So, take your time with that extension. I work in the entertainment industry myself, and when you get such a bunch of hardcore fans on your a**,http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif it's better to give them something good, instead of something fast. Remember: in the long run you won't be judged for time, but for content.

Hello Oleg,

I hope your recovery is a full and succesful one. I just wanted to thank you for your work and dedication to this game we all enjoy so much. There is little in the PC Gaming world that entertains me like FB/AEP/PF does. I believe it has created its own little universe of flyers and squads.

I thank you, get some rest and when the patch is ready we will be ready to down load.

Dear Oleg this is my first post here and I have cut and pasted it to this message to you. Can you please have a look at issue and let me know what you think. Thank you.

There is an annoying bug where if in a bomber or fighter bomber and you get hit on the wing, the aircraft flips almost totally upside down. This is not realistic and only appeared in recent updates. As a real time aircraft technician, I can testify that if such a resultant response to machine gun or cannon fire to the wing of a bomber. The wing would be ripped off as for such a force to flip a medium of heavy bomber upside down would produce a critical failure of the airframe. Moreover, the aircraft has forward momentum. Any disruption to the high and low pressure effects on the aerofoil would be quickly rectified by the ram air working over the wing and the controlled counter maneouvers by the flight controls via the pilot. I find that this is an unrealistic effect that should be addressed as soon as possible. Why is there only a few aircraft that suffer this effect and others do not? IL2, B25, B24 to name a few that are affected. At low altitude there is no room to recover, but at a
reasonable altitude, you can recover the aircraft from such a violent input. Can someone please take this issue up the chain to Oleg?

Smeg

I think there's a completely new flight model in IL2 v4.00 - a prototype of the Battle of Britain engine? So hopefully these issues will change.

Because the 109K showed up in very late 1944 and I don't think that the RAF had any captured models to test against.

In any case, the 109G would be the most common foe for the XIV. And conversely, the IX/XVI would be the most common foe for the 109G. The K and the XIV were rare birds.

Codex1971
06-02-2005, 02:05 AM
It's interesting to note that the FW-190 the odyssey website refers to was a FW-190A-3, most inferior to the later models of the FW's.

as long as we're talking about adding planes, is there any chance of a P-40N since it was the most produced model of the P-40? and maybe even a P-38F for early war servers?

Philipscdrw
06-05-2005, 07:20 PM
Heh. I think they're talking about the planes that have been added - it's a bit late to talk of new ones now!

I would love to see the P-38F, et al, but I'm content with what 4.00m will contain. If Oleg is able to release more aircraft, either as free 'patches' that are really small add-ons, or as a payware expansion pack, then I'd also be very happy though...
