Following the suggestion of several readers of our forums, here a word which we will send to Mr. Maddox accompanied by the maximum of names for to simply saying him that we appreciate his work and deplore the sad rumours which currently circulate. This it is necessary of it to be conscious will undoubtedly not be real heavy argument in a possible decision. But we think that it should at least be meant that many the users of IL2 and continuation appreciate work and one not have for creed systematic criticism.

SIMPLY ANSWER TO THIS POST AND WRITE YOUR MAIL AS TEXT OF ANSWER - You can drop a note if you wish (in english if possible please)
WE will copy all and send letter and signatories mail to Mr Maddox.

SIGN THE OPPEN LETTER TO MR MADDOX (http://france-simulation.ipbhost.com/index.php?showtopic=1002&st=0&#entry6460)

Open Letter to Mr Maddox

The signatories of this letter, would like to testify to you by the present one, their recognition for the work which you completed since IL2 Sturmovik until Pacific Fighters.

We regret like, the quiet majority of players, the ceaseless reproaches coming from players never satisfied who use with great noise the various forums placed at their disposal through our virtual world.

We are not in video game commercial red ochres and we don€ know anything of the problems, which can shake this world. We still hope to see tomorrow products signed Oleg Maddox in the field of the simulation of aerial combat.

However we are a great majority appreciating what is for us the best WWII simulator never carried out. We understand that it is a work which asks each moment attention and that the smallest modification have a real influence on other elements of the program.

It would be false to say that all is always at 100% accurate or efficient. But support and goodwill expressed by you and your team are undoubtedly the best asset of the series of the flight simulators than you allowed us to use.

For every hour spend to fly best airplanes of the second world war, and in name of all the signatories of this document and beyond much of still quiet majority fans.

We wish to say you:

Thank you Mr. Maddox
You have our support and we hope that these some words will be a small compensation taking into consideration all objection which you could read.
Whe hope in the future, we will still be pleased to fly virtually in simulator signed:
Oleg Maddox.

We are numerous to think even if we are not too present in forums to say it, you brought much to aerial combat simulation and we hope that it will be thus for still a long time.

Bah come on mate!

I'm sure the Developers just see the forums as a means of getting feedback and improving their future products.

Game developers are fully aware of the different wants by game players, and they always are aware of balancing realism versus gameplay. (at least good developers)

Cheers, and don't worry about it, I'm sure Oleg has a good laugh or two ot the comments here. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

You gotta be Kidding me lol http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/88.gif I have seen some people do some pretty odd stuff on these forums but man that one is gonna head straight to the top. Will you people quit acting like he's made of glass! Every week there's a new one of these post, it's as if some of these people's lives revolve around this GAME. I don't mean do be rude and flame you, but man get a grip. But if you do deside to send him your letter, ask him where that free addon that was supposed to be released immediatley after pacific fighters is released is.

12-04-2004, 10:43 AM
What have you said in your letter????
aminx http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_confused.gif

Yes we love this game and it gives us many hours of enjoyment. Oleg has put alot of hard work and time into this game. If you want to show your appreciation for his work, buy the game and all the previous IL2 series. Your letter may have good intentions but it also looks like you are one of the biggest A$$ Kissers I have ever seen. If Oleg was to turn too quick it would snap your neck.

To Oleg:

Thank you for your hard work, we apreciate it as will show in the overall sales of PF.

12-04-2004, 11:06 AM
Come on people, give the guy a break. He is just trying to make a nice gesture to the person who made his favorite game, I think it is great idea. The letter could be lightened up a tad and be made more to the point, but I think the intentions are honorable.

12-04-2004, 11:21 AM
Hi 9th guy's..
Letter is already mailed to O.Maddox.

It's came from several of our forum users.. They wich only to say they are satisfied.. this will be a great change http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Think many more are satisfied or enough satisfied (nothing is perfect) but don't say it..
A little number are never satisfied but make great noise..

Trying to be positive. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

12-04-2004, 11:32 AM
Yes, and like I said.

"Yes we love this game and it gives us many hours of enjoyment. Oleg has put alot of hard work and time into this game. If you want to show your appreciation for his work, buy the game and all the previous IL2 series."

"To Oleg:

Thank you for your hard work, we apreciate it as will show in the overall sales of PF.

But we all show and say how we feel in different ways.

12-04-2004, 11:37 AM
I'm glad your being positive, and I hope you get whatever your trying to achieve by your letter. I'm just lauphing because there are so many of these type of post in these forums it really is funny. Poeple here seem to have the feeling that oleg might quit making sims and unless we give thanks and praise every week, he will quit. Maybe the moderators just need to make a new forum labeled brown nose Oleg. Anyways, as your doing whatever it is that makes you happy, thats cool.

12-04-2004, 11:39 AM
I still think its silly as hell! http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/34.gif http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/51.gif

12-04-2004, 11:45 AM
As 9th_Spitin and RC_Cyrin say, "If you want to show your appreciation for his work, buy the game and all the previous IL2 series." And
"Give the guy a break".

Oleg already knows what's up on the forums here and how most all of us appreciate his work. He also knows who the whiners are. He can't please everyone so get a grip and enjoy what we already have and what's coming in the future. Send him your own letter of your own writing if you must. But, buying and playing the IL2 series is your best way to show your appreciation.

12-04-2004, 12:19 PM
I completely agree- As a life long hobbiest, historian & artist who has been involved with this part of history , I want to say your contribution to actually experience it is absolutely fabulous - Many thanks!

12-04-2004, 12:45 PM
He has good intentions, like he said most of the people who have positive feeling toward the il2/Pf series are going to make a thread and start saying how much the love them, and appriciate all the hard work. Its ALWAYS the people with complaints that will make posts, giving the game/developers flak.
at least (as far as ive seen) someone try and get the positive thinking people united and send their appriciation to the developers.
I am a new purchaser of the series (PF) and i have read the problems he has ran into. I also love the immense amount of realism and detail put into the game, even though theres not a massive amount of funding given. It's his and co-workers pure dedication to the series that keeps it at the top of the charts.

12-04-2004, 02:22 PM
thanks for all comment.

Just want to gve opportunity as asked by some users to tell they are satisfied by IL2 Serie's to PF .

Many readers (not often actors) seem to be tired of words like "it's not true, not good and so on.. " Never or few time we can read " thank's or well done..
i spend most of my free time working on PF or other sim.. and i can spend a bit of this time to give opportunity to many silent user to tell they enjoy Maddox work.

Game? GAME!?! NOOOOOOOO!!!! Tell me it isn't so! I thought I was actually traveling back in time to show the world how it is really suppose to be done. Game?! Reminds me of that day back in the late 70's when I found out R2-D2 wasn't a real robot. I cried for days. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-sad.gif

Sorry. Couldn't resist. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif
For the record, I thank Oleg with my pocket book too. From IL2 on- anything he's associated with, I'm buying.

12-04-2004, 04:03 PM
I think it is a nice gesture. But, You should loose the "lawyer speak" and make it sound more person to person. I have read U.S. Code that sounds more personable than that.

You wouldnt be a lawyer would you?

I have probably posted far more articles picking at problems in the game than I have complementing this fine work. That post count might lead one to think that my opinion of the IL2 series is negative but that would be a misconception. Because I love this series of products so much, I am more driven to see that various problems are worked out than I am to post general complements over and over again.

So, Oleg, I love this game. Keep up the great work! Don't let all the gripes get you down. I'm sure there are far more appreciative fans of your team's work than all the complaints might lead you to believe. In fact, the great bulk of the gripes and complaints seen in these forums are probably motivated by that very love of this game!

I have as much to say as all of you here in my regard for this opus, but I just want to go on record as stating my appreciation to Oleg and the rest of the team. They have just scratched the surface of a wonderful world that has the potential for many more years of development along with the dedication of the community. It's very important that they understand our appreciation when they see so many complaints, bugs and suggestions. Good work also to those on this thread for that effort.

12-05-2004, 09:13 AM
I like how Heywoood said it: Appreciation is never a bad thing these days. Thanks for the effort SPIT - consider this my signature.

12-05-2004, 10:51 AM
Adding myself to the list as well. If Oleg hasn't seen any of my posts appreciating his hard work yet then... He should read more http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

Thanks for starting this thread by the way.

12-05-2004, 07:23 PM
Guys..... Guys..... Guys........ http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_rolleyes.gif

Lighten up some of you.. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-indifferent.gif

Many of you in this thread have been wowed by this franchise for what... 1,2,3 going on 4 years now? http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif Some of you were even hooked on the IL2 demo before the sim even came out...

You gotta remember fellas.... think back.... go back to when you were the new guy... when you were still going....Oooooooooooo and Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh and Wooooooooooowwwwwww about this sim. Some of these guys are still in the early stages of their IL2 high.. (Its the same high basically.. with a little FB tweaked engine BOOST thrown in http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/25.gif) Hey man.... I'm going into my 3rd year and although I am way past the Oooooooooooooooo Ahhhhhhhhhhhhh Woooooooooooww stage... I still find myself going...... <span class="ev_code_YELLOW">MAN THIS FRICKIN SIM IS FUGGIN GREEEAAAT!!!!!!!</span> every other time that I boot it up.... almost..... well sometimes I boot it up like four or five times a day but... hey... you know..... ummmmmmm... so anyway.. Yeah guys..... lighten up... let them do their thing. Keep in mind that some of these guys may be coming from ... ahem... some other sim venue..... why some of them may have even been die hard XXX or XXX simmers who actually looked down with pity on those rabid IL2 fans. So you know... you gotta like.. give them a break. Let them get accustomed to the thrill.Let them get their thanks on..... remember what it was like coming here from ....other venues....... "Patches!!!!!! Patches!!!! YOOOUUU DON NEEED NO STINKIN PATCHES!!!!!!! (just fix it yourself as best you can cause as far as we are concerned THANKS FOR THE $$$ and we're going to the BANK!!"

Then you come here and its like..... all the vets go.. "Yeah so we're like waiting for the next patch..." and you say "Patch? what patch?" and they say "Well..... Oleg regularly updates this sim and fixes bugs and stuff with patches..." and you go.... of course "Who's Oleg?" and they go... matter of factly.... (We do that intentionally...) "Oh... he's the game developer... he comes to the forums to find out what we think and let us know whats coming down the pike...." (Lately we add "But he's been kind of scarce lately because of out break of A$$hattisitis on the forums) and you go (Most likely because you kind of missed the whole A$$hatasitis thing..) "http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/blink.gifhttp://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-surprised.gif http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-happy.gif http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif" Then you actually get sucked into the sim........ you find the pencil, the shot off wheel (from inside the wheel well no less), the hydraulics leak..making you have to manually drop your gear.. you may even get the prop shear elevator thing (rare but it happens) or the 109 cowling thingy.... then you really start to go OOooooooooo AAAAHHHHhhhhhh WWWWoOOOooOooOooOowwW......

So bottom line..? Cut em some slack guys..... remember when you had to put the pillows under the chair to catch you jaw everytime something in this sim would make it drop to the floor? http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif

12-05-2004, 07:39 PM
I agree 100% on what Bear states. This is one of my hobbies and enjoy it to it's full it. At the moment it is cheaper than taking real flying lessons but what I like is that I can 'simulate' combat.... Better than going to a movie or being glued to the tube without interactivity. Great work this man has done (Oleg) and it's worth every hard earned dollar.

12-05-2004, 08:44 PM
Thanks for understanding us Bearcat. I came from Aces of the Pacific, and 1942 PAW. Never had time or the inclination to play for about 10 years until Pacific Fighters came out.

I'll be doing the Ooooohh, Aaaah thing for quite some time I guess. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif Kinda like a culture shock, everything you thought would be cool to see in the older games 10 years ago, that just suddenly comes alive on your computer today with this sim is pretty amazing to me. I'm glad someone decided to make a Pacific Air War Simulation, and I'm shocked to see a developer that seems to read every post. It seems fixes come for this sim every other week, and fixes that people mention on this forum in passing seem to get addressed as well.

Just had to spill it out I guess, and to make light of a situation I thought James would play along for fun. I'm sorry and apologize if I offended James.

I certainly appreciate all the hard work and ongoing support - but what are these "sad rumours"?
Was Oleg really once engaged to a Countess? Did he really lose an oil fortune at the card table?

[Edit] And whatever became of the sinister Mr Hugo after the botched hostage exchange in Cairo??[end Edit]

You can't just drop the lure and walk away - come on SPIT cough it up!!
