Hello all!

Newbie here! I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong in PF. I'm flying using keyboard inputs at the moment (have a Saitek on order, thanks for the advice to you guys over in the PF forum) so not only am I crippled that way, but I can't seem to figure out many of the systems.

For instance, for some reason, my targeting reticle, in all aircraft, refuses to follow the target; my HUD seems locked up completely.

In addition, my Sidewinders won't leave the rail and I can't seem to get any targets from the radar!

As if that weren't enough, my radar warning system won't let me know someone's out there until I see tracer fire, and similarly flak'll come out of no where, with no tracking AA warning!

I'm about to write a complaint to the maintenance guys on the ground, I mean, how am I suppose to shoot down something if I can't do so fifty miles away with an AMRAAM. :P

You're flying a MAN's aircraft now, son; not sissy-Mary panzyjets. YOU have to make the sight follow the target like a man.
It also helps if you stay awake while flying real aircraft. No fancy, beeping RADAR based alarm clocks to wake you up when the bandits are coming now.

Kidding, of course. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-happy.gif

Pretty amazing that jet sim jockeys have problems with a plain prop aircraft sim.

I mean, what is there to learn besides moving your head?

Thanks for the welcome everyone, I'll look forward to shooting you all down (or more likely, getting shot up before I even see anything) in the future.

Well, there's this pesky thing called tactics http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-tongue.gif, can't just sit back and memorize how to work my avionics like in the F-16.

The Ruskies and the Huns have rockets on some planes that you can set a fuse distance for....sort of like eyeballing a bunch of sidewinders at once....actually more like 2.75s.....

Trak ir helps....and dont forget to lead.

Your just having normal newbie problems.
Its an easy fix:
Just make sure you boot up and program the flight computer after take-off, climb-out and trimming up.
To boot it up and calibtrate it press,

Yep! Looked like you can get a good deal at the place, problem is, they were out of the flightstick I was looking at. Oh well... http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Found a good deal on Ebay for a brand new wireless Cyborg EVO.
