I know this is a flight sim forum which i parouse often so I know there is a wealth of knowlage here. My question is basicly can I get pictures from a reformattted memoty card, I took some important family pics, being a dummy I was playing with the in camera menu setting and inadvertatly reformatted the memory card. I got a memory extractor tool (ZAR) extracted a large root file 833 mb but dont know how to get pictures out of it, tried opening but keep ctd its too large. Any help appreciated.

Using Google with 'undo format memory card' this thing turned up:

Memory Card Unerase 5.1.3.2124 (http://www.getfreesofts.com/soft/906/45695/Memory_Card_Unerase.html)

Must state I haven't used it!
(No need for it... yet http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/halo.gif)
Dunno if it'll work!

Good Luck!

There are quite a few utilities available to extract images from re-formatted memory cards. You really would be surprised how MUCH some of the more professional ones can retrieve(usually). Try this link to see if any of these will work for you:

This one looks good and its Freeware http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/10.gif

O BTW!

DO NOT change anything on the card or allow any further writing to it until you have one of the recovery programmes working, even then only allow the programme towrite to the disc once you are sure it is going to retrieve files without further corruption http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

All good advice above. I would just add, after succesfully recovering a card full of images from a friends re-formated card using the Lexar rescue program, The resulting files needed renaming to 'filename.jpg' before Photoshop would open them.
