Wow,you certainly didn't waste any time getting these pics posted.Nice job.I was probably that long-haired guy getting in your way to take my own shots, hehe.I'll post mine when I'm back on my own pc.
Great day today.Fantastic to see the Spit up after yesterday's technical hitch and wonderful to have the 109 airborne for longer: 3 times as a group in the 4 hours I was there today.
Marvellous.

long haired guy?, sandals and an accent too?, lmao if so i was standing beside you for a bit; looked like the 109 was having problems today, light smoke trail during first flight followed by a cylinder puffing black smoke during taxi after landing, looked like maintenance guy was working on an injector after that. i was at end of runway for its second landing and at low rpms and it didnt sound right maybe a cylinder loading up or something, had to leave after that. it certainly did sound great during its flyby's first time hearing one for me

It was amazing, let me tell you. You look up and all of the sudden a 109 goes roaring past with that growl and a high pitched whine, undercarriage retracts and away she goes. Its made all the more spectacular by the Spitfire IX that took off the next time and going roaring past. The two sounds are so very distinct and yet familiar.

Beautiful Corsair pictures there too.

Yep that's me alright.Born in England but been in Canada some 20 odd years, really messed up accent now. That and the hair, that's how everyone's recognised me since high school. The sandals are a new addition, and today after 2 afternoons looking skyward I'm sporting a red face.Too bad I can't attend today too,I have to gig in Mississauga.I wonder just how many people will mention the sunburn, like it's something new.Oh well.
Hmm,we probably did the same thing in getting close when they fired up the engines, then legged it down to the last field by the Cogeco truck to watch the flying.I hope in future they might extend the viewing area, center stage is actually far off to the right. The WWI ariel exhibit was all performed over that part of the field and was too far away.
All in all a great 2 days for me.Perhaps I'll see the lanc in 2 weeks too.Admittedly my old mum is more of a 4 engine fan, because it makes 4 times the noise.
Cheers.

Thanks for posting that twin Beech video, Altstiff. I flew one in Europe fifty years ago.
That brought back some great memories. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif

Yeah...I did see some sparks coming from the exhaust stubs but I was told by a few guys that its fairly normal to do that. I imagine they still want to be careful and check over every inch if there is a hint of a problem.

Both the Spitfire and 109 belched some white smoke as the pilot went from idle to takeoff power.

Little things like that would be nice to have in the sim actually. Some smoke and exhaust stuff in a semi-random fashion would be interesting to have as a visual effect.
