Hi all,

I have finished the latest experimentation with markings transparency values and, after beta testing, I'm happy that these values work well with a lot of skins. I have updated my IL2-MAT Manager full installer to included these new MAT and TGA files as well as the latest v2.33 program version installer.

If you have v2.33 already installed then please run the new installer, wait for all MAT and TGa files to finish installing and then quit the IL2-MAT Manager program installer when it runs as this is identical to your current program version.

If you have an earlier version of IL2-MAT Manager installed then please use Windows' Add/Remove Programs to un-install it and then run the new installer which will update both your MAT and TGa files as well as installing IL2-MAT Manager v2.33.

I've also taken the opportunity to include re-positioned 2-digit USAAF numbering MATs kindly preoduced by LukeFF. These can be viewed when you select either the "Alt. White" or "Alt. Black" numbering options contained in the P-38J, P-39, P-40 & PF aircraft section. The repositioned lettering works with both randomised and non-randomised options.

I'd like to express my thanks to Aero Shodanjo for his pioneering work with the new markings transparency and the beta testers.

Hope you enjoy using the new version.

Best Regards

Cheers chaps,

Sorry, should have mentioned, please don't forget to use the "Save" button and then the "Load" tab before exiting the program to force a full file copy else you will not see the new effect.

Cheers

Leigh

PS. We loved Italy thank you.

Cheers Leigh, great stuff again! Wow there's a lot of files, took the best part of an hour to install!

One minor question. On some of the non-default skins I get two sets of emblems, slightly overlapping (looks like the originals with yours not quite covering them). Examples I can think of off-hand are 109Es and Hurricanes. Is this normal or is it my setup? I can provide more info if need be.

Anyway thanks again.

Aces I have a question- Recently while flying a Martlet single mission I was stuck ( I think ) having to use late war RN markings, that looked on this aircraft out of place( & small too)..I looked over my options menu on your menu screen, after the flight was over but couldn't find an option for early or midwar roundels..I know that I must have missed something to get these earlier markings, but what???

hlo chaps.. u could be interested in:

Slightly weathered RAF markings.. circa 1940:
http://www.spitfire.ic.cz/il2mat/roundels1.jpg
get them here (http://www.spitfire.ic.cz/il2mat/RAFRoundels2.zip)

unfortunately il2 shares fuselage and under-wing markings and its not possible to separate them http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_frown.gif

copy these two tga to your \IL-2 Sturmovik Forgotten Battles\PaintSchemes\Regiments\User Defined Markings\Default\ directory and choose "user defined" in IL2MAT Managers RAF section..
please try em and tell me what u think about them.. ty! http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif
btw it was the 1st time i was working with Alpha Channels so.. u know.. be patient http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

and

Slightly weathered RAF 1940 Code Letters
http://www.spitfire.ic.cz/il2mat/RAFcodeletters1.jpg
get em here (http://www.spitfire.ic.cz/il2mat/RAFcodeletters1.zip)

copy those tgas from archive to this directory (overwrite all)(backup those original if u want):
\IL-2 Sturmovik Forgotten Battles\PaintSchemes\Regiments\British Numbering\Non-Outlined Grey\
than set Grey in IL2MATs RN&RAF Lettering section.. check Repositioned RAF markings to get 1940 era style..
hit Quit than and let Il2MAT Manager to do its job..
and ur done..

hope u will enjoy em..

Kindofa BUMP.

Update on my overlapping emblems. Pretty much all of the non-default skins (and I only have the 'official' ones supplied on CDs or in patches) have this problem - two sets of national emblems one on top of the other, slightly skewed. Also unit markings and numbers are occasionally obscured or overlapped.

Is this just my setup? Thanks for any suggestions.

Hi all,

Sorry I've not been around, still very busy with moving so I will attempt to answer your questions in this post as I don't know when I'll get another chance for a while.

Vacillator

Please make sure that you are using un-marked skins, some of those supplied with FB, AEP etc. have markings on them. Forgive me if this is a simple solution but it can be checked easily. No other users have reported this and IL2-MAT Manager cannot produce this effect eg. markings on markings unless they are on the skins themselves.

Hi Jim,

You should be able to select and style of RAF roundel on this plane according to your choice of setup. Can you please give me an example of what you wish to achive.

Cheers

Aces
