Well, the Casablanca class CVEs weren't commisioned until July 1943. So you'd need a career after that point. Assuming there is a career for them.

Where were these little beauties used? I'm having a real hard time landing on them too...but they are neat little ships!

The "Jeep Carriers" were used in the Atlantic and Pacidfc. One of the more famous engagments was the Battle of Leyte Gulf. USS Gambier Bay (CVE-73)was hammered and sunk by the Yamato, Musashi (s?), and the rest of their battle group....

We built about 120 of them during the war, they saw service all over. Convoy escort duty (the USS Guadalcanal captured a U-boat) in the Atlantic, and wherever the navy was in the PTO.

I also seem to remember reading that the CVEs had to stop running at one point and actually turn towards the Japanese fleet in order to get into the wind to launch their aircraft, and that the destroyers ran cover by making torpedo runs at the far more impressive Japanese fleet.

I'd love to see that engagement recreated in PF.

Call sign Taffey-3. Their Admiral turned them into the wind on sighting the enemy and launched everything they could, even though it meant heading straight for the enemy. The destroyers protecting them layed smoke and charged the Japanese battle line. The destroyer squadron commander got the Medal of Honor. The CVE's squadrons, armed for ground close air support, buzzed the Japanese battleships like a swarm of bees. The Japanese were so taken aback by the ferocity of the attack that they hesitated, then withdrew. The commander of the British Pacific Fleet said it was the pure Nelson touch, a go straight-at-em attack that only tradition and certainty of victory can instill.

I try take off in MP which i creat, without any bomb load wildcat can take off without problem. (note:the cv in still position) But when i equip with small bomb, i need to taxi to the end and take off. It's just too bad in MP the CV can't move in order to let fighter gain some speed.

You can practice with the Jeep in the Single Player missions.
