The thing has skis and is from WWI, so it doesn't count. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_razz.gif
But btw did you know that in WWII they landed Hurricanes on carriers because of their very good low-speed handling and stable flight caracteristics. Of course the things had no hooks and they landed on their wheels and then had to brake! Make a video of yourself doing that in IL-2 (i've done it, it's possible) and then we can talk again.

I have landed a number of aircraft without using the hook in this game. The SBD and the Val are quite easy. The F4F and the Zero are tougher, but not really that hard.

I think the only thing in the game that cannot be landed on any single carrier is the Mistel. No flaps on the bomber portion. Therefore I cannot get the speed down.

Go try.

Sea Hurricanes had hooks.

Try takeing off and landing a YP-80 on a aircraft carrier. It can be done rather easily, actually ...

On maps where there is only carrier spawn points, but all planes and I'm in a non-carrier plane, I always just belly in.

Get speed down under 200km/h, full flaps, center the carrier and touch down in the first third of the carrier. It's usually a 360? or two once you touch the deck, and you might spin off of the deck once in awhile, but 99% of the time it comes to an easy rest and then just Refly. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/winky.gif
