I think those who made this at Ubisoft didn't like Geography! http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif

That's nothing. They put Calicut (which is in India), in the Mediterranean Sea. It's probably just a size restriciton so you woldn't be forced to scroll the map.

Actually this is the way the world was at this point in time, Italy is by far not what it is now and Russia was very weird shaped. So don't say Ubisoft is wrong without research.

Yeah, you have to remember the map is from that time period. Pull up a world map of the early 1500's and I'm sure you'll see that it's pretty accurate.

based on that map Moscow looks in about the right place, you just need to remember in the several hundred years between the time the game is set and modern time boarders have moved a lot.

I'm sorry, but I can't actually believe you two have just said that. Moscow has never, ever been located in central Europe, let alone Poland. The OP is correct in saying that the point given for Moscow's location is wrong.

Chaos, the map we see in ACB shows us the modern-day layout of Europe, giving modern-day borders.

looking from the very limited perspective of that map Poland is huge on it compared to the size of the country now and a large section of the country was actually taken by Russia.

also you do know that the polish and Russians fought for years and the polish have had control of Moscow.

No caswallawn, you're wrong. Just look at a map of Europe on google and you will see that Poland exactly the same size and shape as it is on the ACB map. Also, I am fully aware that Russia at one point controlled a large portion of eastern europe, but not during the 16th Century.

Aslo, whether the Poles have had control over Moscow or not is besides the point, the point is that Moscow is not located in Poland, it's located in Russia, several hundred miles north-east of the position it's given on the ACB map.

The real mystery is Calicut and Constantinople

I thought it was pretty obvious that these just symbolise the direction in which the target city is located, because to include Calicut on the map would be a bit of a stretch unless other Indian cities too.
They haven't placed it incorrectly, it's just the direction of their journey.
