Hello,

I played half a dozen campaign in Pacific Fighter, with one in which I did 50 missions as the German in Crimea & Kuban.

Now I have installed Il-2 Sturmovik 1946, in a fresh directory (original Pacific Fighter Merged installation still existing in a separate folder), and I would like to import the Dynamic Campaigns I played in it to Il-2 Sturmovik 1946.

How do I do it ? I copied the files that are in the IL-2 Sturmovik Forgotten Battles\Missions\Campaign\DE\dgen_f_crimea41froon0 path in the same path in the new game, but my campaign does not show. What am I missing ?

Thanks, and best Regards
Patrice

Copy the old \Users directory to the IL-2 1946 directory. Maybe that does the trick.

Thanks for the try Yellow_Sub.
I already did this, and while my user appear in the Pilot list, my campaigns don't.

Any other idea someone ?

Did no one took his dynamic campaigns from Pacific Fighters to Il-2 1946 ?

I think it's the ngen folder..

Hello,

Thanks TAW_Oilburner too to give it a try, but that's not this neither. No file in this folder seem recent enough to warrant having the datas of my saved dynamic campaign.

Do you have any idea of where I could ask this ?

Go to your IL2FB\Missions\Campaign\DE folder.

Look for a folder that has a name like this: dgen_f_berlinkorolov6

Copy and paste into your 1946\Missions\Campaign\DE folder.

Thanks Korolov1986, but this has been done too and does not work.
My campaign folder is named "dgen_f_crimea41froon0" and it is in Missions\Campaign\DE\, but putting it here from Pacific Fighters does not make it appear in Il-2 1946.
I also tried beginning this campaign from scratch, fly the 1st mission, and exit the game, copy the "dgen_f_crimea41froon0" folder with my full campaign, and there my campaign appear in the game, but when I go to the next mission to be flown, it beizarrely is the one I would have had with the newly generated dynamic campaign.

The ngen files are for coops I believe.

There is another file you need, but I don't remember where it is at. If the search function works I suggest a search using very specific search criteria as I know this topic has been covered in the past.

Thanks Zeus-cat. It gives me hope !!!
What would you suggest as specific keywords ?
"Importing Dynamic Campaigns" ?

I'll try my luck.

Ok, if that didn't work, then try this - at your own risk, mind you:

Go to your 1946\Users\yourcallsign\ directory, copy campaigns.ini and settings.ini, save in a safe place.

Go to your PF\Users\yourcallsign\ directory, copy your campaigns.ini and paste into 1946\Users\yourcallsign\ overwriting the old one, if any.

This is the best I can come up with, and it may or may not work. Use caution.

Using the Forum search brang this :
http://forums.ubi.com/eve/forums/a/tpc/f/49310655/m/189...=189102574#189102574 (http://forums.ubi.com/eve/forums/a/tpc/f/49310655/m/189102574?r=189102574#189102574)

But it does not help neither, as I have also done what he says.

Well, thanks again for the effort Korolov1986, but I also tried this already.

In fact, I tried flying a mission in my campaign (in the old game), and then looked in the whole game folder what files were changed. I tried copying the changed files in the new game, and have my campaign in the new game, without success for the moment.

I also looked in the registry if I could find something, without success neither.

Is it possible to ask this question to someone at 1C:Maddox Games ?

Did you move the country specific config file from the DGEN file?

Look in the <span class="ev_code_RED">IL-2 Sturmovik Battles\DGEN </span>folder for a file called confXX where XX is the two letter country code.

Thanks again Zeus-cat, but this does not work neither :-(.

I've always heard you can't move campaigns to a new install.......

Well, this would be a shame. After all, its just file coying as Il-2 1946 is an evolution of Pacific Fighters (4.07 & 4.08).

Any hint as to asking directly to 1C:Maddox Games ?

Thanks !

It should work.
I installed 1946 into a new folder.

Then copied the following files, from the 4.05m installation:
conf.ini, rcu
and the following folders:
Campaign folder, Users folder, Dgen folder (include subfolders)
over from 4.05m to the new folder.

No problems... I could continue on goin' campaigns.
Kept controller settings and all... http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_cool.gif

If you still have PF installed, why not try again, copy the whole lot in one go?
You may loose 1946 stuff this way though... http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-surprised.gif
Backup first! So you can revert the whole lot.

Good Luck!

GREAT, thenk you very much FoolTrottel, this worked !!!! At last, I was sure this was possible !!!

But I still wonder which specific file was needed. I also tried running the game with Sysinternals' Procmon / Regmon / Filemon, but the game either refused to launch with these TOOLS running, or caused the computer to crash if those TOOLS were running after the game has been launched. A pity...

I'll see if I lost some 1946 features later !!!
