i have intel 865pearl mb, 1024kingston,evga 5900se with 56.72,winxp, fake sb audigy LS. i tried dx and open gl and opengl is better. i was only getting about fps avg.25 to 30 and max about 55 to 60 in the a6m2 n1 japan single mission.i went and got rivatuner because the newer forceware drivers don't have opengl tweaks anymore. what a differents! i changed opengl settings in rt, can't remember what exactly right now but i tried for quality and performance and in the same mission i get fps avg. 45 with max. 122 and min. 1 because of the pause before the airstrip target.the actual fps does fluctuate because of activity.in black death tracks fps avg.25 max.83 min 10 at 2:30 mark. i run 1280x960 with high settings some ext. enabled and 2xaa and 2xaf. is this about right for performance?...thanks

That sounds about average for the system you've described. Definitely playable.
