Hi all, I was just wondering if anybody has this game and can tell me about it.

I came across a screencap from it.....

I wanna drive that!! http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

My general thought is along the lines of, do you just drive the ships, or do you run Cunard or another company and as part of that micro-manage and drive the ships?

Thanx!

Also came across... :

Ive played the demo about a year ago. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/25.gif

Its nicely done but gets boring really fast. It would be great to add some more features like bad weather...

It sounds like something.. After 1 week at sea, you'd be twitching 'must sink something, anything...arrggghhhh crew scuttle ship, abandon ship' http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

In a moment of madness, I bought the download version about a year ago. There's a variety of vessels to 'drive' ranging from a water taxi to powerboats to tankers to the Titanic. There are set missions where you have to sail to certain points, collect passengers, drop them off etc without damaging the vessel.

As you can imagine you can whizz around a busy port in a water taxi and stop on a dime, but slowing the Titanic to a halt takes a lot of practise and judgement.

It's fun for a while, and the ports are quite detailed. Sadly the hard drive my version was on died a horrible death and I've never got round to contacting the publishers to get another copy.

I understand they have a forum up and running now, but then there's only really one forum you'll ever need isn't there http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/10.gif This one! http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif

Sounds like Microst Flight Sim.

Now THAT was fun.... well when you were flying that was! I was using a boing 747 as a fighter jet http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

Mind you.... getting Concorde off the cround was a biach ~ same with choppers!!

So rating out of 10 for Ship Simulator? 1 = bad, 10 = good..??

Thanx again!

I would rate the game 4/10 simply because after 10 minutes your completely bored.

Here is a video clip I made from the sim.

Tried demo version.
It's Microsoft.

No surprise.

I have the full version of the game. For the most part, its a dissapointment. The latest patch adds a lot of goodies, but there are practically no waves http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-sad.gif
The textures and the sounds are really good though. The harbors are very detailed.

I like the look of the graphics in this game.Yes after a while it would get boring.I had downloaded a sim off the net a couple of years ago called virtual sailor and was possible to download hundreds of ships and subs, although some of the ship models had a lot to be desired regarding what they actually look like, but what do you want for free.Does microsoft charge you for addons,is there a website specifically for this sim I would be really interested to know

Are there ever any people walking around on deck on the ships? I didnt see any in the video, just wondering.
