If that's true, it's going to be a long delay. I would imagine if they're still touching code, QA/QC will need to be started all over again. Damn...

I`m not so sure about this. The information appears 2nd hand... I still wait for Friday (call it illogical human gut-feeling).

That's what the Xanadu-Translator made of it.

Perhaps they really don't know, when it's done, but even this note would be nice to be available on THIS forum before the end of the week. At least it would give us something to discuss and as you can see in this thread isn't flaming at all... yet..?

Well, at least it leaves us to hope, the patch will come out soon. (2 weeks, lol)

Well it`s good to see Olegg is a perfectionist and may delay to correct the FMs, but it is hard to be told `the 30th July` then `week commencing 4th August` to now get:

Next Month maybe.

(thanx for translation, Cpt.LoneRanger ).

I`d be happier if they had never given us a time until they were certain. I still think it will be Friday.

I would LOVE to recieve word from Ubi on the progress of the patch. If they just told us where they are at and how much more they have to go then I wouldn't need a date, I could make an intelligent guess and if I'm wrong, o well Ubi doesn't get bashed because I guess wrong. I think this would be a smarter move for them rather than saying 2 weeks or 5 years or whatever it may be. I doubt we will get this so I'm not going to become hypocritical and start pi$$ing and moaning over this, I'd much rather have fun!

I didnt know you couldn't say pi$$, wierd.

I cannot tell for sure, but judging from the other dates and from other forums, I'd guess, the "May 2001" is the date when he participated the first time in this forum or when he got himself an ID for the forum.

Just a guess, but seems to make sense.

I hope anybody will speak up and talk to us. I think we all would be able to wait a week or two longer, if they'd say something like "We found this bug and we want to get it fixed before release", "Sorry, all our computers are toast" or even anything at all.

Maybe they'll give us some infos at the end of the week?

Exactly my feelings. Instead of (or in addition to) providing screenshot of new planes, each friday the developer could just write a couple of lines, like "we've been busy working on xyz this week, and next item in list is zyx."

The Russian version of the game may need its own patch. It's quite different from our version from what I understand. When the game weas released in Russia, there were copies that were beta versions that were accidentally released as commercial. They had to either be patched up or replaced. I could be wrong, but what happens to the Russian version of the game may not apply to us at all, so don't get your panties all bunched up until you hear something official.

And now, for a change.. A clue that the patch may be impending: on UBI.com, the matchmaker service, not the web site, if you click on il2fb you are treated to a page where, among other things, there is a link to the "latest patch" for the game.

Now, the best part: it used to link to a page where you got a message saying that no patch was issued for the game, while now it points to the original "il2 sturmovik" download page..

Dang, just give us what you have got and we will let the I-16 guys enjoy another few weeks of peace before they are reduced to the cannon fodder that they realy are.

I didn't mind the 3 patches in IL-2, it may not of been perfect, but it did keep the game interesting. This just isn't right.

I wonder why they didn't correct the "in the week of the 4th" statement yet. It seems that the patch wont see the light of day within the next 2 weeks, so they really should delete or correct their statement.

Rumor is the patch has been forwarded to UBI today, it seems it´s entirely up to them now.

============================
When it comes to testing new aircraft or determining maximum performance, pilots like to talk about "pushing the envelope." They're talking about a two dimensional model: the bottom is zero altitude, the ground; the left is zero speed; the top is max altitude; and the right, maximum velocity, of course. So, the pilots are pushing that upper-right-hand corner of the envelope. What everybody tries not to dwell on is that that's where the postage gets canceled, too.

One of the insiders at the German IL2 board said that the patch has been send to UBI today and that they decide when they release it. I don't hope that those UBI hippies are going to test it for one week now.
