Howdy All,
Here is a collection of I-153 skins I did. My goal was to explore different techniques and just to have fun. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif

First up are some Military skins of a Pre war nation I'd like to Call Atlantis. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/shady.gif

Yeah you heard me, these are from the Royal Atlantian Airforce. (don't ask, it's too long of a story! http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif ) The Royal Blue 2nd Fighter Wing A-Squadron skin design is complete and have created 8 skins from that. The Green and Yellow ones are still work-in-progress.

And last one is my air racing skins I'm curently been working on and off and now on again. In the background you can see my huge track under construction. So far so good, but it's not easy as when I release this thing, I'm gonna make you sweat! http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/mockface.gif

Note: The Air Racing skin and the Royal Blue RAtAF 2nd FW A Sq skins show the final overall look of the many changes I made to the I-153 template which was made by Jersey Devil.

You seem to like russian machines Jadehawk! Very nice set, especially the Atlantis air force one.
Btw I would like some advice on skinning: What is the best way to scratch build markings, stripes etc in photoshop?

"What is the best way to scratch build markings, stripes etc in photoshop?"

Well first off, I dont use Photoshop, I use Paint Shop Pro 9. But I assume they have common tools, just in different locations in your menus.

As for making the Atlantian Starburst national marking, I used a 10 pointed star shape located in the Symmetric shape tool function. I can create anywhere from 3 on up pointed shapes, or Stars if you will. Also use of layering is paramount in making a sucessful template to create skins from. Layering helps you control things and objects such as markings and strips in different layers. You can control the Opaque properties with each layer as well.

Another thing I sugesst is yo bone up on fonts. You can never have enough fonts and all the ones I got are free.

Here is a good start on Fonts:
http://www.1001freefonts.com/

Just unzip them into your Microsoft font folder and your set to go.

For help with skinning, go here for tutorials on how to do things for skinning:
http://www.simmerspaintshop.com/

The guys and gals there have done a great service in these tutorials, so dont miss them!

Lastly, you get stuck, it's always welcomed to ask here for help as well as SimHQ, Simmerspaint shop too. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/25.gif
