I took care of it for Oleg. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/25.gif

Check that you have IL2:FB:PF, and I will magically add it, just for you. Look in QMB, I will call it the Yak-9B, 1944.

I'll even give a choice of 2,3, or 4 FAB-100's or a choice of 64 or 128 PTAB-2.5, just because your so special.

Now run along...

Here's the specs on a few fighters that haven't made it into the Object Viewer yet. Copied, from "I don't know", comments not mine. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-happy.gif

LaGG3 series29:
engine M-105PA 1020hp
armement 1x12.7mm UBS, 1x20mm ShVAK
loadout 23mm NS-23 nose cannon
small bombs or 8xRS-82 rockets
faster than LaGG3 series4 but less armed

LaGG3 series35:
engine M-105PF 1210ho
armement 1x12.7mm UBS, 1x20mm ShVAK
loadout 23mm NS-23 nose cannon
small bombs
close to the series66 in speed, better armed with the NS23 cannon

Yak-7A
engine M-105PA 1020hp
armement 2x7.62mm ShKAS, 1x20mm ShVAK
loadout 6xRS-82 rockets
slower than Yak-7B, weaker armement due to the 7.62mm ShKAS's instead of 12.7mms on 7B

Yak-9B (bomber variant)
engine M-105PF 1210hp
armement 1x12.7mm UBS, 1x20mm ShVAK
loadout up to 4xFAB100 100kg bombs
up to 128xPTAB2.5 anti-tank bombs
slower and less manouverable than standard Yak-9. very heavy when fully loaded.

Yak-9M
engine M-105PF 1210hp
armement 1x12.7mm UBS, 1x20mm ShVAK
loadout 37mm NS-37 nose cannon
should be a bit better in performance than Yak-9

Yak-9UT
engine VK-107A 1650hp at takeoff
armement 2x20mm B-20 1x37mm N-37
loadout none
extremely fast, manouverable and heaviest armement of all soviet fighters! a deadly toy

Yak-3P
engine M-105PF2 1290hp
armement 3x20mm B-20
loadout none
even better than the Yak-9UT. weaker against bombers because of the 20mm instead of the 37mm but better against figters.

Yak-9B...already in the game. Don't pull back to hard on the stick or those bombs will tip your center of balance all the way off and you'll spin into the ground...happened to me too many times http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

Uh ... really how many types of aircrafts were used in ww2 from all countries? i suppose that the number must be close to 500 ( or more, im not sure at all ). There must be room in IL-2 to add more of them http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

We've got the vast majority now....there's still a bunch more here and there but we've got a huge number.

So, these eggs are carried IN the fuselage, and tumble out like the bombs from a Heinkel (Pez dispenser style, dropping out fin first and whipping over to the heavier nose)?

Does this Yak variant have "bombbay doors"?

Looks like one of those "seemed like a good idea, but.." kinds of harebrained implementations. Anybody have any info on whether this variant was actually used, and to what effect?

I think it might have just been a pipe dream, or just a dream on paper. I am not sure though, I just got it from a site that has three view drawings and other technical schematics for quite possibly every plane ever made.

Yak-9B releasing a 100kgbomb from its internal bay

1x20 mm cannon ShVAK
1x12.7mm machine gun UBS
4x100 kg bombs

The Yak-9B was put into limited production and combat evaluation. It was used as a precision-strike weapon to attack heavily-defended targets, but did not prove successful enough to be put into wide-scale production. Loading the bombs was a nuisance for armorers; the machine was so heavily laden as to be a danger to get off the ground; and the pilot had no bombsight. The VVS report back to the factory concluded: "Pilots did not want to fly the aircraft. The Chief Designer must redesign the aeroplane." That was effectively the end of the matter.

I saw one on wings, it was a film about the Yaks and they had this one on. One pilot said the plane only flew good when it was landing. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif
One photo showed one at the end of the runway broken in half just behind the pilots seat. Bombs still in the rack with just the top spline of the plane still intact. It broke on takeoff and slid to the end.
They also spoke of the guys who armed the aircraft, and said that a few had been maimed and killed from teh bombs droping out while putting them in the aircraft, A man had to climb over the top of the seat and reach down into the bomb area and lock the bomb release to hold the bombs. But on sometimes the release did not get latched well and when they would start to leave from under the aircraft a bomb would drop out. LoL I would not have wanted to work on that plane.

bomb arming and stuff was, and still is dangous.

read of a lanc going up before a raid. incenduries where dropping from it, guy runs at aircraft trying to get the crew to leg it, but cookie goes off (4000lbs), plus a nearly a bowser full of fuel... nothing left of aircraft or crew http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-sad.gif

guy lost a arm to flying shrapnel http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-sad.gif

yak9B is cool tho http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_cool.gif, think it was partly to have sneak attacks on stuff, germans would think, hm no il2 or pe2, im safe http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-happy.gif

then some russian ptabs his tank, and another bombs his lorries http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/59.gif
