The best thing about her (as far as I know) is her handle...Killer Chick. It wasn't mentioned in that link but I remember reading about it when it happened.

From experiments at airforces has come forward that women can handle G-forces better then men.

Really? I doubt that. Men are physically stronger and would be better conditioned to stress like this. Well, IMO at least http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

Well, being physically stronger is not an advantage when dealing with G-Forces.

The reason why females are better at dealing with G-forces in general is that they are usually shorter than men, and have much less muscle mass than men. What this means is that the heart doesn't have to work so hard to pump blood around the body, and so can keep pumping the blood into their brains for a longer period under higher stresses.

Also, testing suggests that in combat situations, women are more capable of tracking multiple targets due to better peripheral vision. I think the program I watched said that women could track up to 5 targets at once, whereas men could track only up to 3 at one time (i.e. the famous multi-tasking stereotype - women do it better!).

I dont think that in this century men can deny women anymore. Sure I could kick my wifes butt, but she can also kick my *** too!

Its time to grow up and respect that everyone male/female is created equally.

What a great pilot and great aircraft. It goes to show what a rugged plane that is and how its still proving its worth many years after its shelf life.

Yes, men track only three at at time, beer, sports and women. What else do we need to track anyway?

Well, actually, there is some truth to this statement!

Apparently (again, based on a couple of documentaries I've seen) part of the trade off with men not being able to track so many targets in general is that men are normally more aggressive, and will prioritise and make the decision to engage a target slightly faster than a woman would, thus increasing the chance of victory. But a woman stands a better chance of not getting shot down because she's able to keep an eye on more targets and so can avoid dangers faster.

I reckon a male/female team would work very well in combat, say in a two-seat aircraft. Their combined skills working together would certainly cover a lot of bases in a hostile situation!

Tooz, I think that highlights my general feeling on the differences between genders. There is a distinct pattern in terms of advantages disadvantages to pretty much all of the recognized differences between men and women. They all make basic sense too. Men tended to be hunters so generally there is agression, better night vision, larger physical size and strength, more focused mental abilities. Women tended to run communities and thus tend to be more social, better able to multitask, better color perception (I suspect this allows for better judgement of food and if its good to eat or not), slightly more resiliant in terms of how many females survive from birth to maturity versus males, so on and so forth. Very complimentary. I should also point out that the differences are massively generalized and that they are slight overall so as not to make huge differences.

SO...a male female tag team in air combat is definately going to have some advantages. Women are apparently better able to sustain the G forces, largely because of smaller overall size and structure and the better able to multitask is helpful in a demanding environment such as that. Goes back and forth...it really goes to show.
