Aces' Artwork: Important additional info. for IL2-MAT Manager & stand-alone PF users.

Hi all,

It has recently come to my attention that when Pacific Fighters is installed as a stand-alone game there is a small problem with IL2-MAT Manager not being able to detect the program executable. This is because, unlike previous game versions, the game folder doesn't contain an executable called "il2.exe". A file of this name has been present throughout the game series from the original IL-2 Sturmovik game right through to the Ace Expansion Pack and is present in the "merged" or combined IL2FB/AEP/PF installation folder. A file of this name is required to be detected by IL2-MAT Manager to ensure full backward-compatibility with the original IL-2 Sturmovik game. The easiest way to resolve this problem is as follows:

1. Copy your PF.exe file from your game folder to a temporary folder.

2. Switch to your temporary folder and rename this file from PF.exe to il2.exe.

3. Copy this file, il2.exe, to your game folder.

4. Launch IL2-MAT Manager and then enter its setup screen and setup the IL2 Folder location to your Pacific Fighters game folder, where it will now be able to locate il2.exe.

If at any time you update your Pacific Fighters installation with any game patch which includes a newer version of Pf.exe then you will need to repeat the above procedure to ensure that IL2-MAT Manager launches the latest version when you choose the Launch FB option.

Please also remember to unzip the latest il2fbhook.dll as supplied with IL2-MAT Manager version 1.94 & 1.95 into your IL2-MAT folder so that IL2-MAT can correctly detect the game launching. It is also most important that you correctly configure IL2-MAT with the path to your Pacific Fighters folder and the sub-folder used by custom markings called "CoopRegt". The rest of the IL2-MAT configuration remains as detailed in the documentation.

Best Regards
