Hi There, Just having a discussion with my Bro' about TrackIR and such and realised that with 6DOF, during combat it is potentially possible to be able to raise your body up to see over the nose.

In staight and level flight this would be ok and right, but when your pulling +G's you should be restricted so that you can't get an unatural advantage by seeing over your nose? (you'ld be pushed into your seat with a force related to the g's your pulling)

Has this been discussed before? If so can anyone remember the outcome of the discussion?

If not what are other peoples views?

Sure you can. If you raise your head, you can change your field of view and maybe look a bit more over your nose. An aircrafts nose is very long, though, and space in a canopy limited, so don't expect too much.

(AFAIK that's actually the main reason why 6DOF was not implemented in IL2. It takes a lot of work to not only modell the cockpits right, but also to limit the movement correctly)

In IL2 it is allready modelled, that you move your head according to how a real pilot would move his head due to g-forces. This could be improved in BoB, though, agreed.

There have been discussions about this, yes.
