Ought to be fun. The Vintage Flying Museum has a nice collection of stuff with a B-17 named CHUCKIE as it's centerpiece.

I'll be there, and at $10 a CARLOAD it is one of the cheapest shows around. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

The Big Band Dance is an annual deal and it is in October I think. It's a fund raiser for the museum. They are on a pretty tight budget and Doc runs it more as a labor of love than anything. I've known Doc for years and have been messing around with the warbird and EAA community for quite a while as well. Never been to the dance though.

Here is a link to the warbird flyin thing

I'll try to get a lot of pics for everybody.

Not real sure who or what is going to bring what. There is also an EAA Antique Fly In at NW Regional Airport that weekend as well. Historically Fly-ins are a Krapshoot. Sometimes there is a LOAD of neat stuff and other time it's spam cans and pud knockers.

I've been out of the loop for a while so I really can't tell you to risk a 12 hour RT jaunt or not.

The Museum isn't that big really. Most of the planes are static displays. They do have a P-80. Some Cubs and Aeronca stuff. Several engines on display. A few knick knacks and interesting bits to gander on.

I wouldn't recommend investing 12 hours of my time to see the Museum. As for what is going to be flown in, I have NO idea. I hope Cavanaugh sends his Spit over there from Dallas, but I really have no idea whether it will be there or not.

I'll try to get a call through to Doc this week and update this post with any information that I can get.

As long as your in Ft. Worth, might as well head over to Dallas and check out the Cavanaugh Flight Musuem at the Addison Airport. Cool place.
