PF is ****, they didn't put in any John Wayne or Charlton Heston pilot skins. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/cry.gif http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif

In all honesty it has a few bugs, but it is what I expected. There are some really cool new things and there are some really crappy old problems as well.
Personally the aircraft feel and look great, but things like ships not engaging other ships and aircraft in the online campaign are a problem, not having an LSO is a drag (they can put static sailors in gun stations but not on a platform as an LSO, go figure http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/blink.gif), multiplayer dogfight missions can't have moving carriers, only stationary if used as a base (duh) so basically trying to land on a carrier in a DF server involves no wind across the deck or a pitching deck, just a static lifeless ship.
Oh and the Corsair explodes into a fireball if hit with one 20mm round. Corsair was said to be as tough or tougher than the P47 so not sure thats accurate, someone might want to research that. This could have been a one time deal, not sure. Havent hit another Corsair with a 20mm since then, but heard some other folks report the same thing.

Whooa! About the Corsair, thats not true! You can't base 1 outcome of a fight as complete assesment of a DM?!?!

I've now completed the RN FAA Corsair Campaign that starts at Iwo Jima (well, I changed it to a Corsair F4U-1C instead of the Mk1) and its tough! Yeah it does break a little easier than a P47 but its can take allot of hits. On the first Chirch (sp?) Jima ground attack mission it took a 20mm AA round through the rudder and elevator without them coming off, hits all over the back of the plane, the engine was covered in bullet holes (these all from 20mm ground AA, not little ickle mg bullets), only 1 cannon left working as the wings were saturated with AA shells but with a bit of fine trim and some patience she made it back to the carrier, if a little slow and with allot of smoke and made it on board.

I've only once seen the tail come off the Corsair and that was after repeated AA hits (I was the only target left) while on th deck over Iwo Jima, I've still not seen a wing come off one although the engine does give out a little easier than the R2800 of the P47. I've still not seen one of fire either.

One thing I did notice is its prone to fuel leaks.

It needs a patch but I haven't found any critical bugs, just some small stuff here and there.

And we need the TBF and the B5N! http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

PF is amazing....sure, but without torpedo carrier bombers.....mmmmm...

We need them, absolutely we need them.

Don't the Corsair and the P-47 have the same engine? I was thinking they both had R-2800s. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_confused.gif

Yeah but what they have surrounding it might be a little different. Not sure what, if any armour either of them had round there powerplants.

I am I must admit not as awed as I expected to be,AEP was a more satisfying/exciting release for me.Carrier take-offs/landings are a new skill certainly, and the new aircraft are also a challenge,as are the new maps. However it is only a gut feeling but it does seem slower on my system, with stutters commonplace. This is despite having a reasonable rig.
That having been said I love/am addicted to the sim,I often switch to Lockon which whilst a brilliant sim just does not have the range and depth of this one, where else can you find so many "flyable aircraft",across so many theatres?

runs smoother on mine, great addons, good to see a few new RN planes, lots of new squadron numbers, NETCODE is really improving, before i could only host for 8 on medium graphics then fps would drop, now i can do 12 on excellent graphics before fps drops.
