Well folks here is a stern warning for IUB 1.03 users.

Having left Wilhelmshaven at the start of June 1940 I decided to go through the channel instead and try some harbour raiding. No sooner had I got to the narrowest part (Dover - Calais) the game slowed right down to x1 speed due to the heavy warship activity. With the weather being very poor lately I decided to have a fresh look around and see if it was still raining using the camera (F12 key). And what do I find nearly dead ahead of my boat? Yes, you've guessed right! one nasty and rusty looking mine!

So here's my question, do we have any intelligence on minefields in general - I know we have charts for nets and minefields at our home ports, but is there any information on the rest?

Be very careful out there!!

I'm not certain if there is a map in the IuB documentation, but there is a map of enemy minefields in the NYGM Tonnage War Mod documents. It should be relevant to IuB.

Many thanks!! I just downloaded the Tonnage war mod and found the relevant jpeg file!!

I'm rather amazed I have not come to grief after my past 4 patrols! http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-surprised.gif

I hear ya. I wet my shorts after I looked at this map and wondered how many close calls I had without even knowing it.

Hey - you're not the only one!!! http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-surprised.gif http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/blink.gif

Maybe I preferred it when I roamed on the seven seas with ignorance!!

I think I read somewhere, probably the documentation, that on calm seas you will not trigger the mine (when surfaced that is) but when the weather turns nasty you have a very good chance in hitting one. You will have very little warning just lots of serious flooding.

Now, all I need to do is find the nets, hopefully they are not as bad as the mines!!
