Put your flaps down.

120 kts are almost 300 kph. That is more than enough to take off http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-tongue.gif

120 kn are 220kph.

My usual, successful take off procedure:

- start engine
- lock tail wheel
- throttle up to WEP
- release chocks
- somewhere down the carrier unlock tail wheel and correct direction with rudder
- 5 secs prior to lift off lower flaps all the way

My procedure is similar to Jtd's, but I add nose-up trim and wait to pop the flaps until right before takeoff. Takeoff with full load-about 80 knots/150kph.

I also read about setting fuel mixture to 120% to get just that extra bit of power...

Never tried that myself...

What kind of loadout and fuel setting do you have? Sounds like you have enough speed, unless you have 100% fuel and a large bomb loadout.

It probably won't help, but I have made a training campaign for takeoffs and landngs using the SBD-3. I also have included practice carrier takeoff and landing missions for other aircraft including the F6F.

The campaign is available at Mission4Today.
