and what kind of delay to give them & what are they good for like sinking ships or ????

Theuy seem to be great for sinking ships. I'm still experimenting with them, and the experiments are still very 'hit or miss'. You have to come in at a good angle so that you can aim without being too low. If you are too low they will drop into the sea before engaging their rocket engines, or else just rocket into the ocean.

try about 300-500m altitude and 1km. out, then use the second ring and below the main aiming cross on the sight..
