Nice. But that first image (with the Moose) is undoubtedly a composite image.

Not to mention that those 'Nazi Planes' are Hurricanes... Even look like they have the tri-color on the tails too

Yeah a number of these look suspicious, but the images in themselves are very nice.

Commentary tho.. "Battle for Staliningrad".. who wrote this thing?

Some American who gets his history/"loser therapy" from the Discovery Channel.

I doubt it. If you look at the text on that site it is definitely written in the pattern of a person who speaks English as a second language.

I'm confused.

Are you saying that studying history is for losers?

Or that using the discovery channel to learn history is for losers?

History is one of the most important things to learn about in my opinion.

TV is growing to be a better source for information on history, but it leaves a lot to be desired. You can't replace books with TV yet.

For a lot of people the history they choose to learn can come from the outlet of their choice. Ironically, choosing to use the Discovery Channel for WWII more often then not means you're not learning history at all. Most people watch it because it shows only one side.

Seeing that one side all of the time certainly helps you when all these people from another 71 countries are claiming to have had taken a part in World War II. It helps you to say, " You know you couldn't have done it without us, we didn't even need you."

Moose? WTF? That's a caribou (reindeer). Check out the snipers "shooting at nazi planes" in the second link. Yeah, sure, they shot down that Ju 87 in the next pic. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/88.gif
Absolutely riCOCKulous.

heh, I'm pretty damn sure that the top part of the first picture was taken from a picture of 81 Squadron's Hurricanes returning to their airfield near Murmansk. I've tried finding the original picture, but haven't had any luck.

Some of those war photos look staged, like the one with the Soviet troops on the hillside with bayonets fixed and the train in the background.
