About a year ago some gentlemen posted a description on how one edited the DGen file to allow various planes in the different campaigns. I have been through Sturmovik essentials, but can't find it. Does anyone know where the tread is, or can repost the how-to?

All i can find on my hdd is how to ad tempest, but it should help you. don't know who the author is though.

Here it is
------------
Gents
I have BOE in my combined install & this is what I did to get the Tempest as flyable in a campaign,
try the same steps for NW Europe campaign.

Create a classes file call it classesGBQ
in this data file place TEMPEST5 FIGHTER. The creation of this file must take place in DGEN Folder.
Then go to planesGBQ place TEMPEST5 in file.

No guarantees, but this worked in Jumbo`s BOE addon so it should work for NWEurope campaign

---------------------

hope it helps.

p.s thanks again for metall hurry skin m8 http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-happy.gif

I get so distracted by your sig.

From what I remember, there are several things one coudl do. By pasting in the corect name of planes in some file, you could see Germans fly Comets and Salamanders in late war campaigns, editing others will let you planes that you aren't meant to fly (like the I-185, or if yoy want to fly a German or Japanese plane in a Russioan gampaign). My only problem is I can't remember which files to edit.

You also might try DCG. It can let you create your own campaigns, and planes that are not available for DGEN are available in DCG.

I had a nice thread on the subject long ago but can't find it anymore since I was doing this stuff years back. Many wanted it stickied but they never did.

Here's a link to one of my posts a long time ago.
If you read down and look at all my posts in the thread it explains a lot:

Oh http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/blush.gif

It was my understanding that planes such as the Go229 were not able to be flown in DGEN. My mistake. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/25.gif

Even still, I prefer DCG because I feel there is more to each mission. Also, DGEN is what it is. With DCG I can create any campaign I wish realatively easily.
